Contessa said:Thanks, it would just be for charging my Kindle, phone and tablet (both Android). I believe there is also a European socket in the cabin. This for the European (Schuko) cabin sockets. There is also a newer model which has one type A port (as in the image) and a type C port - the latter has almost become the standard pattern supplied with newer devices.I have one of each - decent quality adaptors at reasonable prices......fortunately we are near one of their stores.

Thank you all for each of your helpful responses. I've now got a much better idea of what I should get.
I'm sorry to have taken so long to reply but I've been busy with all the last minute things to do.0 -
If you are only looking to charge mobile 'phones and the like, the models indicated above are entirely suitable......as long as you have the correct charging cable !!!I have Apple devices which use one of three different connections and need to carry a suitable cable for each.Relatively recently the EU obliged manufacturers to adopt a universal type to eradicate this scenario - long overdue in my view.

The European Union has adopted (EU) 2022/2380 – the ‘Common Charger Directive’ which will require the use of USB-C based chargers for mobile phones and other portable electrical/electronic devices placed on the EU market from December 2024.
We consider that it would potentially help businesses and deliver consumer and environmental benefits if we were to introduce standardised requirements for chargers for certain portable electrical/electronic devices across the whole UK. We are seeking views from manufacturers, importers, distributors, and trade associations as to whether it would be helpful to do so and, if so, whether this should be based on USB-C – as adopted by the EU. We also want to hear about the issues and practicalities a similar approach may involve.

Indeed - but I can't think that the major league manufacturers like Apple and Samsung, for example, will market models of devices in the UK differing from those in Europe therefore requiring separate charging cables. The type C will become standard I expect. However that is maybe not as straightforward as it might appear - I have an Apple device where both ends of the cable are type C.UPDATE - I did a quick check, according to internet sources, Apple have now changed to type C connectors following an EU mandate to have all manufacturers adopt a common standard by 2024.However, I'm not clear if that applies to both ends of charging cables, or only the device end.I still need the original 30 pin model for my beloved vintage iPod, the second generation lightning connector for mobile 'phone and now the aforementioned type C.0
