Quick PIP Question

Amathyst said:I don't know how accurate this is but I called the PIP line and was able to check my payment via the automated option, according to that my payment is still the same (£749.80), also nothing has changed with my rent or council tax (my son is my carer and is disregarded for rent and council tax) and the council are usually quite fast with that and no notifications from UC to say that anything has changed, they pay the rent directly to the council for me.
Still trying not to get my hopes up.
What's the chances of them giving me a longer award if I requested it on the form? Like I said in other posts, I've received 2 x 5 years so far, my health hasn't and isn't likely to change.
If you were unhappy about award length when decision comes.... consider reconsideration request on basis only of award length as this can be done pretty risk free. Some tips on what you might want to think about for such an argument made to DWP can be requested - I had a successful challenge on award length in my threads as example where I detailed the points I raised."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack1 -
Ahh I thought a decision had been made with them saying "Your PIP review is complete. You should receive your decision letter in 2 weeks." etc. There is a lot of conflicting things on the net and I find it a bit confusing and overwhelming at times. At least I know now, thank you.
I did read that there are quite a lot of people being told that they can't tell them over the phone and what you said about reports. I'll just wait until next week which is when I ought to receive the letter.
I may do that if all is well and it's not been extended.

I was awarded the same for 6 years but I'm not happy with the points as they ignored my swallowing issues and the fact that I struggle to prepare food but they did give me 4 for engaging this time although that's also incorrect but it's better than 2 or nothing. I got 20 for mobility again and this time my DL was 15 rather than 12. At least it's out of the way for 5 years.

No, I'll leave it, I'm ok with the award length which might sound weird as it's only a year longer but at least it's a full 5 years before they assess again.
Yeah I'm just going to keep reiterating my struggles with each review and if I get diagnosis for my conditions in the meantime, I'll make sure to add them the next time I have a review (I know it's not based on diagnosis but the DWP tend to list mine when giving reasons for things).
Thanks for your help and for responding to my posts, I appreciate it.2 -
