This is my year! - LP's 2008 Debt Free Diary

fabulous! So many people seem to have made it to be debt free by the end of 2007 (and moved over to MFW), and so many aiming realistically for debt free in 2008. This is encouraging. But for those of us on the long haul, don't despair, lets just get on with adjusting our SOA's ( we should all revisit often I think) and plan plan plan!unsecured Debts at [strike]August 2007 £79,984[/strike] September £79,579 [STRIKE]Snowballing date July 2013[/STRIKE].

            thanks linniestorm!
My OH is from NZ so we get to go to 2 weddings and visit the folks!
also a quick stop-over in Oz to see OH's bro!
I'm gonna be skint until I go though... thank goodness the pound is stronger than the NZ dollar! Phew!

A new wardrobe then a home together sounds really wonderful! That's really something that will change your life!
I don't have a debt-free date as it it depends so much on how work goes. According to my plan for the year, it 'should' be around September - but if things go really well it could be earlier .... or if it doesn't go to plan, later.
When I get there, would like to go on a lovely holiday - about 10 days or so somewhere warm and relaxing. Where is still to be planned And then I want to pay off my mortgage in the coming five years or so. So not a lot :rotfl:It's inspiring to keep reading how people are changing their lifestyles & making progress. 0 And then I want to pay off my mortgage in the coming five years or so. Hiya LP and happy new year!!
I am so pleased your dfd is so close!! No doubt going out on a shopping spree with your actual money and not the banks will be the best thing ever!
My unsecured debt free date should be sometime between April and June. Depending on various things and also I have been lucky and managed to get extra to pay off debts from finding a temp 2nd job to selling a comp win a and the usual Amazoning etc, so I am hoping for more luck to raise money to get the OD gone asap. Tomorrow I pay off my credit card and I am grining like a Cheshire cat! For me though it will be a weekend away to somewhere like Budapest paid for on my debit card out of my money!Debt Free - done

            Morning all,
Well, after a lot of thinking about the future a lot last night, and all the amazing things to come, I have decided to... stop smoking!!!
I had my last ciggie this morning waiting for the bus and feel so releaved!
My OH doesn't mind that I smoke, but I know that at times he must think urgh! It will be so lovely not to be dependent on smoking anymore.
I'm sure there will be wobbles here and there, but I really think that you need to WANT to give up smoking... my time has finally come... I simply don't want to smoke anymore.
I have smoked on and off for 10 year (wow) and always stopped every now and then (for 6 months, for 2 years, etc), but this time I intend not to go back. This is the longest time I have smoked for... 2 1/2 years.
so, with a big smile on my little pickle face..
Hi, my name is Little Pickle, I'm a non smoker!
 hugs to all,
 LP

I know!!! I just used the demotivator...
I spend approx £1,058.50 per year on ciggies, and work 3.6 weeks per year to pay for the pleasure! GEEEEZZZ!!
I just gave myself a payrise! whoop! whoop!
Do you think I should save the nearly £3.00 per day I USED to spend on ciggies in a piggy bank or maybe I could put £3.00 per day on my credit card debt?
Hmm... just off to look at my budget and see what difference that makes to my DFD.... back soon!
OKAY... if I add the £3.00 to my Credit Card debt per day, then my parent's debt, then the old O/D my debt free date would be 2 weeks sooner! Yip yip!
