Hi
I have a problem with easyJet
I have been not aloud to board as there was a problem on the weight of my ski bag
when I got to the gate I was told I could. Or board and needed to go back to the check in desks
so myself and partner and we were on a booking of 7 people
the 2 of us went back to check in
they said that the weight was out from the tag yes it was over but I could have put some in my suitcase as this was under should I have know
the issue was I used the self service scales as requested by easyJet and they don’t weigh the ski bags correctly as stated by a member of staff when we’re back down with this issue they weigh at 22 no matter what as this is what they are programmed to do
so we then went on to what we can do and they said they can put us on the next flight but we would have to pay I said I am not paying as this is not my fault etc and eventually got the managers manager to come and she let us get on free of charge
the issue is now is that we had a private transfer booked which the rest of the party still used and we had to pay for our own as we are going to a ski resort and these are not easy to get etc
so I paid 220 euros where so I stand on getting this back? Any advice I haven’t rang the customer care line yet
thanks

I'm not sure I fully understand the issue, in terms of whether the bag really was overweight or not, but unless you got anything in writing from them that suggests that they accepted they were at fault, I suspect you'll have an uphill battle (no chairlift available!) in getting them to accept consequential losses, but no harm in trying.

I think you will struggle to get any money back.

Proving the bag wasn't overweight and therefore your fault would be hard without written proof they accepted it was down to their scales.
Especially as the issue is purely down to bag weight.

Maybe push for delay/denied boarding compensation?
