AnotherNewDay said:First spend of the month as follows : Cats = £14.98 and me = £45.16. Hopefully, this spend will cover me for most of the month and the cats for the next 10 days to fortnight. V annoyed that I didn't wait a day until 1 March as the lidl app vouchers start again, which means instead of free sweets I would have go a free bakery & veg item.8

So much for the "won't need much until next weekend"... £16.49 spent on a top-up shop today! Sliced bread & rolls for OH, yogurt, and some extra fresh fruit & veg. And the weekend's shopping starts tomorrow... but I'm not too despondent in that I haven't had to do a non-perishables run yet this month; the stores are holding up well although I probably will need a few bits before we get into April.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

I admit I haven't been keeping a check on my budget, but at a rough estimate its around £185. I must do an update so I know where I'm at. Not halfway through the month and I'm over half of the budget. Luckily the freezers full so not much needed. Famous last words!5

I spent £22.04 today on fish, tofu, oil, chocolates for gifts and an Easter egg for the food bank.
I've got enough stuff in the fridge and freezer to keep us fed over the weekend so I'm hoping for no more spends until the delivery I've got coming next Thursday. I'll have to see how the salad stuff holds out though.

March Budget £155.
DH bought milk at £1.70 instead of the usual £1.45 for 4 pints, and some grapes on Tuesday,
£4.77 spent.
I went to Morris for milk and their Savers Meusli x 2 today.
I checked the yellow stickered shelves and stocked up on half price meat and fish. A leg of pork joint just over a kilo was £3.68, I cut it into two smaller joints. An 800 g boneless brisket joint was £4.09, and casserole stewing steak was £2.52 for nearly 400g. Three roasting joints and meat for two casseroles cost £10.29. The freezer is well stocked jam packed again.
Sliced, cooked beef was half price too.
I got two whole kippers and a portion of smoked haddock.
£20.26p spent.
Total 25.03£52.20 spent, £102.80 left.

Evening all,
I had hoped my next spend would be about £50, but alas it's £72.12 🤷♀️
I went this evening, tired and hungry - never a good combination.
This amount did include £11.95 for toiletries, body cream, facial scrub, and shampoo.
Another £20.83 on meat, including 3 y/s items with 50% off. About £5-6 on items l didn't need or intend to buy, like cinnamon swirls and pork pies (hunger kicked in)
A bit disappointed but it could be worse and it will all get eaten. Unbelievably, there are still a few things l need that Tesco didn't have, like tomato puree. Well, they had a posh branded one for £1.75...l was hungry not insane 🤣
New totals £319.01 / £500 ...£180.99 remaining

Big shop delivered last night, £70.50 with delivery. Hardly any food for meals but does include daughters party food bits for her birthday at the weekend which cost an extortionate amount in my opinion, and Easter eggs for the boys to take to school for local hospital. Also spent £7 on the new Pepsi flavour cans, so my own doing really. Meal planned until this time next week but I do need some deodorant as Tesco didn’t bring mine last night. Also spent£7.75 spent earlier in the week by husband not sure what on.£201.58 spent.7
