Rolling_Scissors said:I think I am taking one for the team as nothing is quite working as it should. Currently it sees my imports as exports and vice versa, which confuses the home consumption figure and the proper control of the battery. Octopus say they will refund the cost of this poor behaviour but they don't have a fix right now. The pitfalls of a new integration.
Out of interest what gear do you have, particularly the model of inverter? I have a 6kW "Hub" inverter (SE6000H), 400V battery, and separate Modbus "Energy Meter" (WND-3Y-400-MB) to monitor import/export.0 -
Octopus have replied expressing confidence. I might give it ago after the meter's replaced on 1st. Doing the sums, if all my current import is at 8.5p and export at 15p, then IOF will be better if I export 1.8 times as much as I import. That would certainly be the case in Summer, and even March is shaping up that way as well.1

Has anyone got any more feedback, good or bad, on this integration?
There are some Facebook users reporting problems, and concerning it seems if if gets screwed up at Octopus' end it appears you can't revoke their control through Solaredge. It is also reported that it completely disables Modbus control, although little detail of that aspect was given.
On the other hand at least one poster said it went screwy for the first couple of days but then started behaving itself.1 -

Good to hear. What size is your system by the way? A rough guess at the mix of peak vs normal suggests you're exporting 60-70 kWh per day. How much are you importing for battery charging if any?
In fact in general what does the system do? Some on Facebook said their battery fully discharged to the grid at peak time each day.0 -

Some on Facebook said their battery fully discharged to the grid at peak time each day.I'd be interested to hear too, as I have a G99 application in for a Tesla PW3 and would like to go with IOF in summer. From others I know, Octopus seem to start grid charging the battery from around 11pm (or whenever they deem it is cheap/green to do so). They then fully discharge (down to 20%) during peak time when demand is highest. Some users have reported some issues to begin with as they learn your usage / battery capacity with the battery becoming completely discharged by 18:30-18:45, and then a small amount of peak rate import to run the house is occurring for 15-30mins which is obviously not ideal. I'm not sure if things improve after a few weeks once the system better learns the household usage and/or has correctly calibrated the battery's full capacity. From a financial PoV, it doesn't matter if the battery is charged from the grid overnight or solar during the day, as both have the same financial value, which makes Octopus free to do whatever is most beneficial/greener for them.1 -
Just received confirmation from Octopus HQ that all Tesla PW3s are being onboarded to Intelligent Flux now via the Devices tab on the Octopus App.
