    I followed the instructions,

used it for the required time,

put about 80 sheets in auto feed when it can take 100, always made sure the bin was emptied when full! Cleaned shredder when I could!

Didn't say anything about lubricating it & when I check online it said I didn’t need to do it for this shredder

When it worked I loved this shredder!

I live in a flat & have kept all my paperwork e.g statements stored away in box’s under my bed so wanna get rid of the old copies I don’t need anymore as trying to de clutter my flat!

I want a good auto feed one will make life allot Easier!

    1. Make sure that the bin is only filled up to 3/4 so it never is overfilled.
Then the only reason it will jam is because the auto fill is feeding too many sheets into the shredder.
Look at the Which? report I mentioned earlier to see if they can suggest a reliable auto feed shredder.
    (a) Even then the auto feed may go wrong and a jams start to occur again.
    (b) Feed the maximum recommended number of sheets in manually (so you will need to shred more often).

    2. Why kept all they sheets for so long? If anyone breaks in, it will be a jackpot find for the crooks.

    1. I will do that & make sure not over fill the bin!

    2. I think the auto feed function became faulty in the end & kept jamming, so in the end it only liked flat clean paper! Didn’t like paper with ink on it & glossy paper etc e.g bills/statements! Just kept feeding more than it should or take ages to get the paper through!

    3. thanks for the tips I will look at which & see what they recommend & get a better one & take even better care of it!

    4. I have no clue Just did!

Update tried to get more of the paper out of the blades it goes backwards then forwards a bit with few shreds of paper coming out! but then stops & makes loud nose think some of the paper got completely stuck in between the blades o well have contacted the company doubt they will do anything

So will buy new one & oil it every 2-3 months to keep it nice & clean

Personally, I just take my confidential waste into work and use their shredder.

I am looking for a good value auto feed shredder that will last more 2 than years and can handle more than 50 pages at once

That is a bit of an ask for a domestic shredder.

    Many state maximum 5 sheets.
Ours is pretty much the very industrial end of domestic shredders and states maximum 12 sheets.
The photo seems to state that your one is maximum 9 sheets:

Remember, all those "capacities" are for flat paper, no creases, not folded, no staples...

If you have been trying to feed 50 or so sheets, I am not surprised it failed - it has been abused and misused to be honest.

Why can't you just feed fewer sheets at a time?

For the 50-sheet capacity you suggest is necessary, the budget and type of unit seems to need to change quite a bit.  These also seem to have far more to go wrong.
Here is one example an internet search returned:

Well the shredder I bought had 100 sheet tray which fed 1 page trough at a time automatically for 10 mins but after a few months It keep trying to feed more than it should or took ages for the roller to feed paper through! Still worked till now! But other Amazon reviews after mine had same issues!

so I did as per instructions nothing more!

    which is a shame

So I am looking at this one https://amzn.eu/d/9zfolFh which has better reviews

I want something that is good value has a tray that can hold 80+ pieces of paper feeding them through 1 at a time and can last a long time

If you are going to oil it make sure you use the right things because I used vegetable oil after being misled by Google and completely knackered my last one.
As above, put through much two at once and you’re going to break even the most expensive one.
If you got that much to shred and you’ve got outside space , if it’s probably going be cheaper and easier to buy a garden incinerator and burn the lot.

The 'official' oils are vegetable oil; canola oil usually.

Although the shredder states a capacity of 10 sheets, it's probably something like 10 sheets of wafer thin 60gsm paper.  5 sheets at a time seems to work well for my micro cut shredder, which also has a spec of 10 sheets.
I did notice that you didn't mention lubricating the shredder in your first post.  Most shredder manuals will tell you to lubricate the shredder each time you empty it.  Do not use aerosol lubricants such as WD-40, as they can and do combust - the flammable fumes can build up in the shredder bin and the spark of the switch can ignite these fumes.  I used to think this was a myth, until it happened to me, signalling the end of line for my previous shredder.  Hey, I'm human and I make mistakes like everybody else! :D
I now use vegetable oil to lubricate my shredder.  I put a thin coating of vegetable on both sides of a sheet of A4 paper and put this through my shredder.  As soon as I do this, you can hear the tone of the shredder change rather noticeably.  So it's not just something that the manufacturers tell you to do for the sake of it.

My shredder worked before the vegetable oil. It got more clogged after using it and then gave up the ghost.  Anecdotal, but it's all I have to go on. I have now progressed to sewing machine oil which seems better.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Yep I live and learn! I know most shredded Manuals tell you to oil it but couldn’t see it in this one! Even when I first got it if the paper wasn’t wafer Finn then it would feed more through that to should etc

I am gonna look for better quality auto feed shredder will oil it this time
