Mortgage statement has arrived and balance is now £35512
    CC stands at £1163

Slowly getting there but still struggling with the budget.

    Wonder if anyone is around?

Thought I would come back to my old stomping ground and re-focus my intentions and state my goals, first an update.....

My husband resigned from his job of 23 years with nothing to go to and not a single penny in May, since then he has yet to get back into employment but he does have an interview next week.

Meanwhile to say things have been tight moneywise is an understatement, our income literally halved overnight. All bills have been paid and we still have some form of life but overpayments have been out of the question.

On a more positive note I have handed in my final dissertation for my BA and will be graduating in December:j

The state of play financially is:
    Mortgage stands at £31904
Credit cards on 0% deal £2100
Tesco CC £450 but I am going to have to pay the final installment to Uni of £675 so that I can graduate.

Savings in S&S isa balance £6687

I am thinking that I will pay the uni fees and switch the Tesco card to another 0% deal rather than cash in the ISA with an aim to clearing if off in the next 6 months (providing hubby gets this job).

I have also applied to run a part time business doing direct selling of health and beauty products. It has a low start up cost so I am thinking that if I can make a few hundred quid leading up to Christmas then it is worth a punt.

Hoping that some of you will pop by soon..........I do miss this place.

I doubt it to be honest Skinty, FE is on its bum at the moment with the slash in funding. I did it more for me to be honest and it has given me confidence in my own ability.

I view money as a transient thing.......just numbers really, at the moment our number is low:o working on raising it though:)

Back again. So the state of play is a mixed bag so to speak.

Credit cards have rocketed to £4100:mad: and I have also had to draw out £2000 from my Stocks and Shares Isa.

    However.........

Hubby now has a job and we received his first salary payment on 28th December:j

Spending wise this year is going to be as tight if not tighter than last year to get us back into a strong position to weather any future storms.

    Resolutions?

I am determined to get fit, healthy and looking fantastic in 2013 and would like to get back to my previous size 8 clothing which I was until I hit 33 ish. I will do this by taking care of myself properly by eating healthily and exercising regularly.

Work wise for me is OK but I would like to seek out some new challenges as I am getting a bit bored with my job. New business has started well and made best part of £400 in December which helped towards Christmas.

I would also like to be CC debt free by December 2013 if not sooner!
