Bit of a traumatic time for us at the moment as MIL has had to go into a care home as she could no longer live alone. Very upsetting but its for the best.

Needless to say that things have been hectic with take aways and extra petrol costs due to to-ing and fro-ing most evenings as she was admitted into hospital first.

Anyway, things have settled down somewhat and as a new month dawns I need to have a good look at the bank accounts.

Due to a nice free council tax month things are slightly easier this month so I am about to write a cheque out for £800 from my account bringing the total payment this month with the DD to £1280.

No clothes are needed this month, gas has been paid forand we have £550 to see us through the rest of the month in OH's account.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

The £800 overpayment has cleared my account today:)

Won't be long until I am in the £20k's:j

Last night we went to a uni funding evening at DS1 6th form college, thankfully he will be going before the fees go up but still stands to be in a lot of student debt.

Still not sure if he is staying at home or moving away as all the offers havent been given yet. One thing's for sure, a car is out of the question as the quote for him for a group 1 car was £3000:eek:

Thanks Beanie, I am really stepping it up a gear this year and so far so good.

I know its a huge bulk of my earnings but its just for the short term and in the long term we will be financially secure.

We still have a decent life too, just not extravagant.

Finally recieved my January Mortgage statement and feel really motivated by the figures.

    Additional borrowing account
Balance -£8.62 Remaining term 12 Years 04 months

:jI have paid off this account 12 years and 4 months early, and now they owe ME money:j

    Main Mortgage account
Balance £32338.30 Remaining term 12 years 06 months

Overpayment sent this month £800 - Current balance £31538

It is going to be hard going to clear the full balance by the 12/12/12 but that is my goal, no point having easy ones eh?:)

In other news I passed my accountancy exam re-sit and am now fully qualified:beer:

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
