APD is only paid on the outbound flight departing from the UK - not the return leg
your flight would have been at the 2024 rates so either £88 Band B (2,001 to 5,500 miles) or £92 Band C (over 5,500 miles)
Travelups fees may cancel out most of the refundable amount
'Our administration fee. Where you cancel your confirmed booking, you must pay an administration fee to us of £75 per person (unless you have purchased a service pack, in which case the administration fee payable will be as per the terms of your chosen service pack). For all non-refundable airline tickets if the recoverable tax components are less than the administration charge the ticket will be deemed to be fully non-refundable. Any applicable tax refunds recovered from the supplier for non-refundable tickets will be issued in the form of a TravelUp electronic credit voucher, this will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue'
It is maybe possible the total taxes refundable is £110 which would explain the £35 they say you will get back
Thank you. That explains it. I am wondering if I should do a Credit card chargeback for the £35 they promised.Any applicable tax refunds recovered from the supplier for non-refundable tickets will be issued in the form of a TravelUp electronic credit voucher, this will be valid for 12 months from the date of issueLooks as if you should have rebooked and gone on holiday. Now, instead of losing an extra £300, your loss has extended to £600 and no holiday.
Look at booking direct in the future, as the fee structure will be more easy to follow.
They did not give me that option, unfortunately. My travel agent said that rebooking fee is more than half what I paid.
Thinking that it would have cost you £300 or so to get on the next flight.0 -

Rebooking fee + cost of new flight!
The fee includes the cost of the rebooking on to the next flight, unless there are no longer any seats in the same class.
For example, here are typical conditions:
Looking at the No Show fee. That is the fee you pay if you miss the flight and want to rebook on another at the same class.
There you see under Economy Value, that you can cancel your booking before the flight is due, to get back your 1385.70 Singapore Dollars minus S$400.
Similarly for No Show, if you miss the flight just pay S$400 to get on to the next flight with the same class of seat and to keep your return booking alive. Nothing more to pay(other than the agent's Admin fee). If you had booked directly with the airline, then S$400 with nothing more to pay.
Of course, since you booked via an agent, they can tack on any fees they like. But the costs should have simply been the No Show fee plus the agent's Admin fee. Even if they charged £75. £375 to save your holiday would have been worth it.

I do not think it works like that. Few years ago, I missed an Etihad flight as I had arrived at the check in desk 45 mins. before departure and Etihad has strict 60 mins. before departure rule. I took a mini-cab to the airport and the driver drove at 30mph behind lorries on the M25 all the way!
Anyway, so I rang Etihad's customer service that I am now at Heathrow and want to take the next flight. I had to pay the no-show fee and pay extra as it was a last minute flight booking.
Now, in this Travelup example, the return flight was worth £661.43Me:If there is a date change, how much would I have to pay extra?Travelup:
The minimum fee you need to pay would be £300.00 plus any kind of fare and tax difference as well.Me:Please be informed that, as per the airline rules, your ticket is non-refundable. In the event of cancellation, you are entitled to receive a partial refund of £34.16.
Fine. I will cancel then.
Travelup :
The refund will be issued after 4-6 weeks (once received back from the airline). We can forward you a cancellation invoice so you can claim the remainder via your travel insurance, if applicable (dependent on the policy type).
Please excuse me if I am being totally thick. Age catches up and I am getting dull.

In other words, IF there is any kind of fare difference. If there is availability at the same class, there is no fare difference. If there is no availability, then you pay the difference to move to another class. Doesn't mean it will be a large amount.
Same Economy seat, but just another classification.
For example, if your booking was in S class, you could have asked them to find the next available seat in S class. Then there is no fare difference.
