Highview Parking Double Dip PCN at Coventry - Airport Retail Park

I'm in a bit of a state about a problem I'm having with a demand for £155

I went in a car park 21 December 2024, at 1100. Did some browsing at Currys. The salesman said they do Blue Light Discount, and as my fiancee works in a hospital we said we'd come back with her when she finished at 4pm. We left at around 1200.

Picked her up from work, went back to Currys. Proceeded to purchase an item, discount applied, we left. Christmas happened, everyone happy with presents etc.

In January we went to New York to get married. Did the sights, enjoyed ourselves, etc. Came back to UK and around 20th January I got a letter from Highview Parking. It is a "reminder" of a previous letter which I didn't receive. That one apparently had a lower cost PCN if it was paid early.

I've been subjected to the "double dib" ... They say I didn't leave and was there for nearly 7 hours. This is obviously their cameras' fault. I was at a loss what to do, every phone number I call is just a means to pay and I feel that is unfair. I had to go back to work and to be honest it got away from me.

Now I have DCBL with a demand for £155. For a mistake someone else made?

I've been to my bank and got a statement printed of all the places I went on 21 December.

Their claim: I was there 1100 - 1746.

My bank says: McDonalds @ 1209 - which is around 2 miles from the car park I was supposed to be in.

I also have tickets from a car park in Coventry city centre dated: 0933 (going shopping) and 1625 (went to Primark) .. the second shows I was in the city.

There is no way to contact Highview Parking via phone. Even if there was, my 6-6 shifts mean it's hard to call during working hours. When I do get a number, it's just options to pay.

I called DCBL and they basically questioned everything - where did I go, where did I get married, date of birth, email - why do they want all this? It's not my fault Highview Parking cameras are malfunctioning.

They threatened me with court and CCJs. Fine, I don't care, I'll bring my evidence to show.

What else can I do? It's keeping me awake. It's not a huge amount but the principal is that it's basically stealing from people.

Any help is welcomed thank you
