Claimant sent an advocate a Mr Singh from Birmingham. Couldn't be bothered whether he won or lost as he was being paid either way.

Claimant won albeit only was awarded £212.

Judge deducted the £70 bringing it back to £100 then added £35 fee a £27 hearing fee and the rest I can't remember but all in all was £112 on top of the initial £100.

It's cost them more than £212 to take me to court so although I lost I feel I've given them a run for their money in which they are out of pocket even after winning.

    JB wasn't there of course

I feel relieved that it's all over and for defending these thieves it's cost me in real terms £152 for challenging this charge out of principle.

Would I do the appeal again yes I would out of principle.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice and to Coupon-mad for your invaluable help.

Your figure of £181-£212 was spot on.

The Claimants advocate Mr Singh based on my defence thought my case was stronger.

Sorry to read about your loss; what was the judge's reasoning behind awarding the claimant the win?

Regarding paying the judgement the letter from the court just mentions sending payment to a DCBLegal address.
even though DCBLegal have an automated payment line for payments and also accept Bank transfer and payment by post which the court judgement letter makes to mention of.

Obviously I'll include my DCB reference number with payment except there appears to be two.

Still feeling really down not being given the opportunity to go through my case and the judge coming to her decision without offering me an opportunity to go into more detail like "do you have anything more to say" before she then started her end speech and thinking how do I interrupt her to say I've further evidence and case to go through before she makes judgement.

I was damned if I did and damned if I didn't.

So I've come away not knowing what her responses/judgement would have been if she'd allowed me more time to state my case.

I had this mountain of paper work in front of me whilst the advocate paralegal with no Litigation or Advocacy Certificate from CILEX Regulation to his name.
was sat opposite with just his phone in hand to read off and no documents in front of him whatsoever. I thought phones were banned in court since there are posters outside saying so.

I knew this as he wasn't even aware of Mazurs and admitted he hadn't got the credentials

In the waiting area I could overhear conversations from other advocates/solicitors about the Mazur case so many were worryingly aware of it as I could hear their conversations.

Maybe, the Mazur case only applies to new cases after and not cases already being undertaken like mine.

The judge had a trainee with her sat to one side.

God help us if that trainee is learning from this kind of lazy Judge who doesn't want to give the full 90 mins allowed and get in and out in 15mins.

A years worth of work and gathering evidence all to no avail.

I will just have to put all this behind me and accept I was unlucky having the wrong district judge in this hearing.

I kick myself for not butting in whilst the judge was speaking to say I'd more of my defence to speak about.

Don't beat yourself up. It's 'judge bingo' and you got a bad one. At least she disallowed the extortion of the added £70 and taught the trainee that much!

Pay £212 in full on the DCB Legal portal (make sure it's not DCB Ltd's website you are on).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
