..... but  i am going to give them 10 day to see if my credit refund goes through, and if not then contact the regulator, as i think i have allowed this Octopus clown show to do on long enough.
Unless there are Octo Fairies will not get credit refund until after final bill has been issued.  :)

It seems there is something very unique going on with your energy accounts. It is well known that TE cannot read meters, and Octopus failed to take a final read for anyone else who switched away. The question remains how did those readings get onto MyWatts and Octopus online accounts. If you are saying, despite staying up to record your meter on switch day, you didn't do anything with it, perhaps it was the meter fairies.
You are also unique in TE billing you from a specific reading. The rest of us do not have any mention of a reading on our initial bill, so cannot know what reading was actually used to open the account, if any.

If you are going to be a snide and condesending then i think we can just end any further conversations, as i have better things to do than give such people my time.

    Have a good one.

I am being neither snide nor condescending, simply trying to get to the bottom of whether or not you provided Octopus with the meter reading as this would be a perfect explanation for how it now appears on your account. If the meter reading did originate directly from you, then they would be entitled to ignore it and wait for the read they receive from the industry D0086 flow.
Are you absolutely certain that you didn't give Octopus the reading yourself?

I'm a bit confused by the timings of this switch.
    >  "I switched on Feb 7th"

Switches take place at midnight. We would have to assume that Thursday 6 February was that last day of your supply by Octopus and Friday 7 February the first day of your supply by TE.

If this is the case, the meter reading to be used for the switch is the one date-stamped 2025-02-07 00:00:00. Octopus should bill you up to this time, i.e. including 6 February. TE should bill you from 7 February onwards.

Does "1 day short of my switch day" mean up to and including 6 February or something else? You may find that closing meter readings on bills are dated on the last day of the billing period, while the same reading used as the opening reading for the next period is dated on the first day of the period. Illogical as this may sound, it's in fact quite reasonable since midnight belongs to both days.

You will have discovered that it's the new supplier who is to record the meter reading at switch and submit it to a validation service. Once validated, it's submitted to the old supplier so the final bill can be produced. You say that TE have recorded this reading (at
2025-02-07 00:00:00?), although we've yet to see evidence that they can reliably retrieve meter readings. That's why you've been asked how TE were able to record this reading. If you submitted it and they accepted it, well and good - there's no reason why this reading shouldn't pass validation and be submitted to Octopus for billing. So where is the gap in your Octopus billing history?
