Hello DMG24, may I take this brief moment to offer you my sincere and genuine thanks (and apolgises) for highlighting the unnecessary and unrelenting use of english grammer to express ones thoughts and experiences to the greater community at large.

Very little use of english "grammar" and correct spelling here.

Yes I know I will now be criticised for commenting on spelling and grammar but the OP did bring this up.

I have to agree with dmg24:-

What an incredibly long way of saying the following:

From Thursday, Netto will be offering a 23 inch LCD (with five years guarantee) for £280.

A full explanation as to how this manifested itself is availible upon request; a brieif explanation is availible now for your convienience.. Given the reasonably incredible value proposed by the indicated, despite it remaining anonomous, televisual apparatus availible for purchase by a usually convienient branch of Nettos, one could not help but wet ones pants in the excitiment of being in receipt of said product. In my more detailed response, as yet not requested by anyone, it examines the precise relationship my MSE name has to do with how I interact. What has been identitfied is that as yet one has not become a victim of the self fulfilling prophecy >Syndrome<, which clearly means ones prefered option is to keep it short. So the considered, forthwit and definitive answer to YOUR question which concludes my response at this juncture is.......... Yes. :A

Agreed though remember it has DVD and Freeview built in as well - so really very good indeed at that price.

And that loo roll made of kittens looks an OK price at first glance too... :D

Maybe, but it was an entertaining read first thing in the morning.

I can't afford it but thanks for the post, it is nice to be nice and costs nothing!

Never use two words where a singular alternative would suffice.
"If a man says something, but there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong?"
  • Before you all get excited, you would need to look at the Quality of this item, it is not all about price, sometimes it is better to pay a little more for something you will be happy with that a few quid less for something sub-standard.

Don't just look at the specification (which can give a misleading impression of the performance of an item) without considering all other features such as ease of use, menus etc all of which can be pretty frustrating to use on the cheaper Freeview system.

Whilst I would normally agree in terms of checking out the "quality" I'm not so sure in suggesting that Freeview is 'complicated'.

Granted if you want to use the text/interactive stuff it could be, but otherwise, as a basic benefit, freeview gives you a load of extra channels. Nothing complicated about using them!

I will also say I have yet to see a recent LCD TV that doesn't perform pretty well with a digital signal.

Now with this thing, if you want to know more, there isn't much being given away and you'd have to go in and look at the box. But if you think it's a bargain, you'd be going in to do that anyway.

i don't think Tightmartin was implying that Freeview is complicated but was stating that cheaper freeview sets don't come some additional features that make life a little easier.

for example - i have a very cheap freeview box in my bedroom tand a more expensive one downstairs. the more expensive one allows me to 'save' my favourite channels so i can quickly access them and scan through them to see what's on.

on my cheaper box, if i'm watching channel 14 and want to know whats currently on channel 60, i have to flick through the whole list (which can be very slow) or turn straight to that channel.

very small details that aren't important to me, but may be irritating to other people

I'm sure they only invented 23" LCD televisions to catch the eye of people looking for 32" ones. :D
