PoA for me. So I have capacity but clearly they did not act according to my wishes as I never agreed to the VM contract.0

Do these members of the family who have been adminstering things have the PoA for you?Do they know what your wishes might have been?Reads like you need to get professional help rather than well meaning people on the internet.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

They are saying I have to pay nearly £400
Why not pay it if it's causing you such a problem?
£400 may not be a lot to you but it's massive to some.Well, the OP can just ignore Virgin as I do with parking companies. My point is the OP makes it sound a horrific situation (not sure why) and they could just pay what seems like a genuine debt.Or not pay.Posting here isn't going to help.0 -
So you would GIVE AWAY £400 !!?. Perhaps you could give me the £400 to pay the bill. This bill may be genuine but it ISN’T mine. That is MY point. I’ll check my bank to see if your donation has been made you’re so kind. 👍0

The source of the problem is my step son. So that is where I now need to focus 👍. Thanks for your input everyone.0

Did your husband have a valid will at time of death? Or if not did his step-children apply for letters of administration?
Both the probate/letters of administration and the will are public documents and can be examined by anyone who wants to see them.
I would contact the bereavement Dept of Virgin. They may want a copy of the Death Certificate - do you have a copy?
More worryingly did you agree to your step-children dealing with your husband's affairs/estate?
I would contact Age UK and/or Citizens Advice.1 -

Thanks for your input everyone. As others have said you need to get in touch with Virgin and explain what may have happened. This hopefully will stop them pursuing the debt, for now.You need to sort this out with your step-son, urgently.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0
