Have you been speaking with the bereavement team? If not, try them, they should be more sensitive.

They are saying I have to pay nearly £400
Why not pay it if it's causing you such a problem?-1 -

£400 may not be a lot to you but it's massive to some.0 -

a) exactly what 'harassment' is taking place,
b) whether Virgin accept that the contract was correctly cancelled though (its sounds as if not), and
c) if not, then where the fault lies, as the OP doesn't appear to have been directly involved in the communications with them but was relying on third party 'admins' .
One persons 'harassment' is another persons (companies) billing for payment for services delivered and chasing up if that bill does not get paid....2 -
SimpsonSadly said:Will check it out but the admins do not communicate very well. Is it not illegal for Virgin to transfer the contract to me without my knowledge or approval?.Who or what are the admins and in what capacity are/have they been dealing with the Will?Virgin may have done nothing wrong but only having bits of a story makes it difficult to work out what has been happening.

Apologies, “admins” refers to the administrators who are my late husbands family. At the time of my husbands death his adult children ( my step children )took control of his affairs saying they would deal with things but they haven’t communicated with me about their decisions resulting in this mess.Harassment, as I see it is the fact I am being hounded for a debt which I did not create and knew nothing about.0

Might be worth you contacting the bereavement team to see if they can sort this out for you.0

Get confirmation of things in writing from banks, utilities etc.

You’re right but it’s so damn difficult to get hold of them. It makes me think they are actually trying to hide things from me. Found out there was a PoA, can I challenge a decision which was made using the PoA ?.0

I would hope that you would be aware if you had one yourself and who the named PoA's are - you will have had to sign it. And even if you do have one, then it is the responsibility of those named to act according to your wishes while you have capacity, and in your best interests when not.
