I don’t know that I have my work landline registered with anyone apart from on the application I made with Zopa I remembered they asked for work details and sure number was part of that.

My contact details on there now is just my mobile number.

Does request have to be by post or can it be by email?

Correct, and you can then report them to the ICO, and get compensation (maybe).

    Dear (company name),

I am concerned about the nature and frequency of calls received to my personal phone especially when I am at work.

Under General Data Protection Regulations I can choose how a company can contact me.

As a matter of due diligence, and for the avoidance of doubt, all future contact must be in writing to my home address only.

I would also ask that you delete all personal and work numbers that your organisation holds for me.

I understand that failure to observe this request gives me the option to register a complaint with the Information Commissionaires Office, which may result in a financial penalty for your firm.

    Yours Sincerely

    Thank you!

in terms of stopping payments do I simply cancel
the direct debits with my bank and not do anything in terms of creditors apart from sending the above letter to tell them not to call me?

As I haven’t received any calls yet assume I can lose the first paragraph of that letter and send now before I stop the payments or do I have to wait for the calls first?

keen to stop any calls to work before they happen if at all possible.
