I just realised today that I hadn't come back with the final out come. I went to the delivery office in town. I gave them my details and they found the parcel. It was addressed to number 47 not 42. There is a number 47 but they must have been out or possibly there isn't anyone living there. So anyway I got my parcel. I was a bit disappointed with the seller who went quiet on me after telling them there was a problem.
That needs reporting. If there had been someone in at number 47 they may well have kept the parcel (if you don't know them it would seem likely they don't know you).
And the seller assured you they got your address right apart from the postcode. Was the address handwritten or printed?

I'm quite surprised that RM handed it over to you when any ID would have shown a different address to that on the parcel.  Did you have to plead, beg or burst into tears to get it?

Maybe having an uncommon name would help?
The op also has the tracking information.
Actually whenever I've been to a CSP I've only shown a debit card as ID (but I did have the something for you card)

    But agreed...
have you got something for Mr Smith?

    What's the address?

I don't know...it's been sent to the wrong house.

    Doesn't usually end that well....

The address was hand written on the parcel. It didn't look like a 2, it was definitely a 7. I have a fairly standard name but as stated I had the tracking number which must have matched up to the parcel.I did tell them they were never coming to my house They were actually really nice about it.
Nothing to see here, move along.

It was fortunate the person who'd been receiving the 'something for you' cards hadn't already collected it, using ID that proved they lived at number 47.
Anyway well worth photographing the address label and updating eBay.
Was the postcode actually wrong as the seller told you?
