No they won't take it from your surplus but s/he may say you can't have it in your I&E and have to use you your surplus to pay for it.

But as I said on benefits you won't get an IPA.

Right, but if its coming out of my surplus would they say I had to get rid of them if it would result in me having enough surplus for an IPA?

You will NOT get an IPA on benefits.

You are allowed a surplus before an IPA is administered for which you are allowed to use in any way you see fit. Looking at your I&E you have not included housekeeping which as a single man you are allowed £191 so you have no problems there at all.

    1) Income solely made up of benefits = No IPA

    2) An IPA only ever takes a % of a surplus. The minimum is £50 on a £100 surplus. So whatever happened you would be left with the other £50 per month (or more) to use as you see fit.

If you spend that on sky/internet that is your business.

As long as the budget you submit is fair and meets your needs then the OR won't miscalculate the surplus and leave you short.

    OOOOPS!! sorry! :o

You are allowed that surplus to use as you see fit so you will be able to pay for them that way.

Also as I said if you are offered a job let us know your income and we can help you sort out your I&E.

    Putting it another way:

An IPA takes 50-70% of any true surplus, so it leaves you with the other 30-50% to do what you wish with. :)
