    Would it play Hearts?
Well there is a lot of talk about swapping cards, so maybe draw poker?

Sorry for poking fun, each to their own.
But to me 1 Grand would get a pretty decent computing setup, Is more than that over the top?
In the end it's  (hopefully) your money, so your choice what you spend it on.

I waited to add 5080 Scan 285k pre build,
As suspected PayPal 2.45k limit would have been exceeded.
Only another few weeks to check 5070ti builds, prob drop cpu to 265k.

It depends what you want to do, play modern games at 1080p with reduced settings, then yes, for some that is totally fine, however if you want to play modern games at 4k, 60+ FPS and with settings maxed then you need more oomph.

Gaming as a hobby probably costs me around £1k a year averaged out, although it can be lumpy in a year like this when I might be spending £2k on a GPU (but will sell my old one for £400), but that will be good for 4-5 years. If I compare it to going to sport with friends then it is cheap, I probably spend £2,000-3,000 a year going to football matches depending on the season, £1,500-2,500 a year on going to music gigs depending on who is on tour, but equally I do not buy tat, I do not spend money on designer brands, I do not drive expensive cars, I cook from scratch, I make my own lunches, rarely buy takeaway coffee etc. For me it is all about prioritising how I spend money so I get the most value for money out of it in terms of enjoyment per pound spent, on that basis gaming is good value for money.

I do also make a bit of money on the side from creating things in UE5 which whilst I do not need quite such a high end PC it certainly helps. I do not actually use any of that money though, I put it all into my pension for tax efficiency reasons, but spending £1k a year and getting to enjoy playing games, whilst also getting £3-4k in my pension is a pretty good deal.

Why a pre-build, you will pay over the odds and the 9800X3D us a far better chip for gaming than the Ultra 285.

I would seriously consider building your own PC, thirty minutes work for the hardware and maybe an hour for OS install and updates which can be done whilst watching a film etc. and you will get far better value.

It's just "shiny new thing" pricing. Plus Nvidia need to recoup some of those AI stock price losses!

But as with all thing PC Build, if you need to ask the price - you cannot afford it anyway.

The price will not drop, at least not the MSRP, though the scalpers will stop price gouging eventually.

The prices were set and advertised well before the stock market dropped. Their share price will also likely recover over the next few months.

Not really, it perfectly reasonable to build PCs at different budgets.

Thanks not 100% confident as only self build was AMD Sempron and even then I got Stand-off wrong.
It looked nice After I planked m/board direct onto case!
Though seriously I have limited mobility and pre build could be ideal.
I appreciate 9800x3d=Hundreds of fps though latest 265k/285k updates at least manage +1xx fps.
Maybe I’ll re consider MB+265K bundle via scan

I had to add co pilot is decent pc advisor.
    Thanks

    E.g.
    Fractal Design compact midi case.
    Includes 1 Additional Stand-off 1 Stand-off Tool.
Does this mean this Case has pre installed Standoffs.
If I order with GPU or No GPU.
I can start new thread to avoid taking this thread.

    thanks

It depends which case exactly, from looking on their website it does not look like they have pre-fitted standoffs. Most cases come with spare standoffs and the tool to fit them, not many come with pre-fitted ones though so one can fit different sized motherboards, some will come with two lengths of standoffs if they are a wide case.
