I think I should post that link in a thread Rog. To be honest I don't want to have any more dealings at all with them but I can at least advise others. Good riddance to bad rubbish. I need to forget the past and concentrate on the future but people dealing with them should be warned and protected.

I haven't been in the paper yet! I don't know how you find out about that?

I live in such a small town and I know that people don't read things like that usually but I just wanted to know how you're informed of that if in fact you are?

The short answer is - you are NOT informed. The Insolvency Service does have the right to publish your Bankruptcy in the London Gazette and a local paper - I never saw, or met anyone else who had seen, my bankruptcy in any of our local papers - I was buying them for months, and 'scouring' the announcements, till I just gave up on it.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Hey LL - Great news, HAPPY NEW YEAR :D :j

I know how you feel about CCA Sc*m , but they have their jobs to do and it is the legal framework that allows them to exist that needs changing.
Having said that, Companies do not have to pass on your debt, as I have said before out of all my creditors JOHN LEWIS were amazing in their customer services, they never passed on my details unlike ALL the others, and were always ready to listen to my "excuses" :p for late payment.

As far as bank accounts go, don't want to get you down, but the OR in my case sent a nice letter to the Halifax, which they promptly ignored !!!!

Seriously, just open a Co-Op account, get everything transferred and empty your current bank account and just leave them to it. The Co-Op account works well, as many many have vouched for.

In my opinion, the best you can do is move on, by all means spend time around "here" helping people, but unless you want too turn into a one-woman caped crusader ;) you on your own will not be able to change the way these companies operate.

MSE and other similar sites are a life-saver at these times, and while I do not post much, I hope that I can give something back to the community that helped me :T

As for being 3 stone overweight and 33 , try 4 stone and 44 ;) and balding as well :D well don't try that last bit :D

Feef free to call me a cheeky beggar, but have you heard of LIGHTER LIFE ? My 27 yr old neice has been on their plan for 4 or 5 months and she has lost around 3 or 4 stone and looks totally different and she feels so much better.

I know they do a program for men as well ..... I just need to get my fat @rse into gear and go for it :p The only thing I don't like about "diets" is that they usually cost money !!! but now I have a surplus each month, maybe I should go for it.

    Here's hoping you have a great 2008 :D

You're all so great here, thank you. I've had an amazing day. As you said TA - I can't be a one woman crusader but if someone needs some support and advice that's always nice. And MD - thank you for the PM! You're a darling.

What a great day and a change to how I felt yesterday!

    Cheers everybody x
