From another thread I think Lou's OR has moved it to tomorrow.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hello old friend! Not literally old I might add, Fermi. LOL
You've been ill too? Get well soon. I am much better. I'm going out a bit later on because I've taken a couple of days off this week as I worked over Christmas.
A couple of my creditors are being awkward. Not all I might add - most of them know about the BR now but of course some like harrassing. I'll tell the OR tomorrow because I don't think ANY of them have been informed I've been ringing round to do it. I suppose it's good to do that but I don't really like doing the OR's job for them.
As for the card - I can't do anything now because it's done. I will probably get an IPA which I am not looking forward to. I think I was a bit naive about the after-effects of BR. I thought it was - go to court, name in the paper, that's it. It's not. There is a lot of work afterwards although it is a "slight" relief.
I don't want to sound miserable but I think I am just stressing about this now and I want my fresh start to start. I feel in "limbo" but I suppose most people who do this do.BSC No 60

Don't worry about the odd 'awkward' creditor, loopy - that is no longer your problem. Tell the OR and he/she will tell you how to refer any awkward sods on to the Insolvency service.
I agree with wdiag about the Bank Account - just be carefull that LTSB does not 'take' any credit and place it against any outstanding 'card debt'. If they do - inform the OR immediately.
Good luck with the interview.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I'm getting better (gradually).

This thing about failure of the OR's to notify creditors is really starting to annoy me.
The OR's own guidance states:
I know the OR's are busy, but the delays and lack of notification that some people are having to put up with is taking the proverbial p***.:rolleyes:The official receiver should notify any banks where the bankrupt held an account as soon as practically possible (and certainly within 5 working days of the bankruptcy order) and should do so as soon as he/she obtains the bank's full address and account numbers.
I understand that letters get lost/delayed in the post, creditors lose/misplace/misfile them, creditors sometime deliberately ignore them, but the quantity and scope of the problem we see with this cannot be explained away totally.
I think most people do feel in that "limbo". BR is not the "get out of jail free card" that some people regard it as. But it is a process that allows you to gradually get your life back on track and take it forward rather than going backwards.
There are plenty of people that have felt like you and who now regard BR as one of their best (albeit most painful) decisions.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

loopy good luck for tomorrow.i had mine wednesday and yes i was dreading it but it was ok. i had a human person on the line and he told me i would not get an ipa nor will i have another interview and he will be putting me forward for an early discharge (if the office is not too busy) he also said i could have an overdraft and a credit card of no more than £250 each(which i will never again do) debt free all the way now. after he had finished he wished me good luck in my new life.:j0

Hmmm the OR thing is annoying me, too. Got ANOTHER call tonight 8pm about the SPELLING of my County Court!!!! Why are they asking ME? I don't really want to discuss this on my landline because of the situation at home. It's my father's business phone.
Also, EOS - I phoned them today because they'd left me a message and apparently they need copies of my BR draft - well, that should have been done already. I've been bankrupt for nearly a month!
I'll tell the OR that tomorrow. I am sick of creditors now. I can't rememeber when I incurred my debts to be honest but I have a basic idea of some of it. I will sit with my SOA in front of me and try and remember most of it. All I can do now is be honest.
I'm not having the best week to be honest. I wanted 2008 to be a new start. I hope after tomorrow I can actually start repairing the damage done over the past 10-12 years.

Hey Lou. Don't get disheartened. One thing at a time, eh?
You've done really well so far and I for one am very glad that you're still posting on here.
I hope the interview goes well for you and that the OR has some suggestions about your creditors. I imagine that when I'm at your stage I'll just be saying "I'm BR, bye bye" and putting the phone down if they keep calling me.

Hi loopy lou, Ive recently gone bankrupt and am waiting on the big talk with the OR havent got my date yet, so i want to say thank you for being so honest and keeping us updated on your progress cos im finding it really comforting knowing someone else is going through the same thing, doing the same things i am and its helping me understand whats going to happen. Good luck for tomorrow i hope all goes ok and please let us know. take care xox
oh and as for the crap car and feeling a bit heavy, totally with you girl but like squirrel piegon says one step at a time, this time next year we could be skinny, have better cars, be discharged, debt free...................etc weight watchers here we come............................next year lol0 -
Thank you - I think I'm just a bag of nerves TBH and a bit moody.
I don't mean to sound like a spoilt child. I have a home thanks to my parents and I'm relatively healthy. I think I am just feeling a bit down.
I haven't written notes or anything for tomorrow because I don't know what they'll ask so I will just play it by ear and speak when spoken to and think before I answer because I tend to waffle too!BSC No 60
