Some good, some not so good, declaring 200.07/175. It's a huge improvement over last year but I just need to be careful. It's for 2adults 7days a week plus an additional adult for an extra 6-10days per month.6

Thanks @elsiepac.PipneyJane said:Good evening All
Hope @elsiepac is OK.
I’ve got two shops to declare: £8.76 in Sainsbugs on Sunday (spent on 100g Serrano ham £1.89, YS Pork belly slices £4.30, bananas 78p, Pack of 3 Sweet peppers £1.79), and £26.06 in L!dl today.
I really should not shop when when I’m hungry. The whole point of going to L!dl at lunchtime was to (hopefully) pick up free items won via their Bakery challenge. Well, as well as a free almond croissant and a free packet of wine gums, I somehow managed to buy two packets of smoked sausages (£2.49 each) plus a large tub of olives stuffed with almonds, but totally forgot to get custard (15% off until COB today) and another bag of frozen mixed berries. And yes, I did take a shopping list. I just failed to read it properly.
To top it all off, we got two £2 coins in our change. (We have a house rule: never spend a £2 coin. They go to the Running Away Fund instead.)
< Humph! >Anyway, the above brings our total February shop to £149.90/£165.30, leaving £15.40 to roll into March.
- Pip (not sure if I’m declaring for February)
Well, it turns out I did do another spend in February. £10.65 spent on a stop in L!dl on my way home from work yesterday, driven by the need for the forgotten frozen berries. While there, I picked up another bakery freebie (this time a jam doughnut), a surprise frozen box of chicken kibbeh, two lots of fresh tortelloni, and a bag of frozen peas.
Since I didn’t have the GC purse with me, I paid cash and reimbursed myself when I got home. Well, somewhere my maths was off because it turned out the GC purse had 25p more in it than I was expecting. No, I’m not complaining, just surprised. Anyway…I’m declaring for February at £160.30/£165.30, leaving £5 to roll forward to March.

Pfffbbbttt! After declaring for February earlier this week, annoyingly, Mr. Jings went to M & S today and spent £7.00 on coffee and clementines.
£453.13 / £330.00 spent. £123.13 over spent.

Well that's February finished and I have a £16.04 underspend which I'm very pleased with especially as I did some creative accounting and used some money from the grocery pot to pay for a yummy breakfast for us in a farm cafe. Was it a value for money breakfast? Probably not but we enjoyed sitting by the lake and eating local produce and supporting a local farm.
£303.96/£320. £16.04 underspend 👍9 -

£0.77 left.
We still have today and tomorrow so I'm not going to declare our total yet as OH needs a loaf of bread to make sandwiches for work. We have a 50p off a loaf making it 50p (edited, not £50) instead of £1 so should come in budget, just, as long as that is the only thing bought. It's going to be close.
£223.73/£224.
£0.27 left.
Saying it was close isn't a joke, but still it is within the budget which I'll take.
Well done everyone who came in budget, no matter how close.
Those that didn't just remember it likely would have been worse if not on here. Don't let it keep you down. The next month is another chance to try.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy7 -
£225.54 / £250.00 spent I'm really pleased I stayed within budget and hopefully I'll be able to shave a bit more off the grocery budget next month.GC Feb 25 - £225.54/£250 Mar £218.63/£2405

February Budget £140
We went to Aldi this evening as DH will be helping out at the football tomorrow. I bought plenty of vegetables, wonky potatoes, carrots, parsnips and onions, which will store in the cold garage, cauliflower, broccoli, a Savoy cabbage, and a head of celery. I bought unwaxed lemons, small bananas, small pears, and a pomegranate, self raising flour, a bag of fruit and nut mix, and milk. The 454g bags of Columbian ground coffee were reduced to £3.99 so I bought two. I bought porridge oats, red stickered 30% off, and a kilo of British diced beef, 30% off at £6.29, which has been frozen in five portions for some tasty casseroles and Cornish pasties.
£31.69 well spent.

Good morning guys
My total for February came to £144.08/£300
This might seem low but at the moment we’re living with DS2 and although I’m doing the main shops any extra bits picked up by OH or DS2 haven’t been included in my figures. As it’s really difficult to keep on top of the numbers next month I’m not going to join the March challenge ( but obviously watch what I spend so that there’s no waste)
Good luck for next month
Cuddles
