I have to get my collection together. I have been collecting World War II cookbooks for close to 40 years, plus magazines of the time period, sheet music, and I have a lot. I just wish I liked to cook!7

£75.42 left.
£6 on two TGTG bags from the local coffee place (£3 each. Well worth the price).
£15.91 in Waitr*se.
£38.86 in Mr S on two shops (£17.15 and £21.71).
Don't know if anyone else saw it but it was 50p for saver delivery for deliveries today. I frantically got an order in last night just before cut off when I saw that.OH's ciders and a couple of bottles of rum were put in the basket to easily get over the £40 minimum spend (alcohol coming out of a different budget). Heavy items that OH doesn't now need to go out to get. Also saves money as it costs £3.50 for the bus to get to the nearest large shop and back. It's even more than that to go to the store we know stocks most of the items we tend to buy. Yes when you go in store you can sometimes save money with reductions but they aren't a sure thing.
£209.11/£224.
£14.89 left.
This is going to be tight! I'm still thinking we should be able to come within budget. OH will need milk and bread. We may need some vegetables but I doubt it. I think I have enough fruits in to get me to the end of the month. Fingers crossed .I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy9 -
Shopping for week 3 of 4 has been done. We will trigger the 10% off voucher at Lidl's when we do next week's shopping so that has worked out well as a good start to stocking up for March. February is a nice neat month with its tidy 4 weeks. We will go to the butchers later this week and buy some sausages and one of his very delicious meat pies.
February spend £217.40. Balance £102.608 -
Soontobeoap said:Thanks @K9sandFelines our Aldi is quite small and doesn't stock the gluten free bread or DF stuff. Not even oat milk which would be very helpful. I eat lactose free and cathedral city lactose free is the best I have tasted. The boys can't eat dairy and I don't like plant based. I don't know why I bought cathedral city. You are right I will look for cheaper next time. I have spent £600 already this year! I was under £350 last year and it's not all down to having visitors in Jan and Feb I am sure. I am going to do as much shopping in March as I can on clubcard, nectar, M and S vouchers. We are also staying with DS and GDs to help with babysitting for 4 days whilst their Mum is on skiing trip with friends.
I forgot to report at the beginning of my month that I'd got Jasmine rice from Am@zon, jackfruit and some Bendicks chocolates which totalled £14.12
Then on Saturday the 15th I spent £12.97 in @ldi, and £1.53 at the C@-@p.
So, I need to add those spend to my current total.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £88.47 app/150 May /150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. One person vegan household with occasional visitors)Forever learning the art of frugality9 -
600/600 I will go over by 20 as have farm shop on Friday. Went to aldi today and spent 150 we did buy meat and coffee but stuck to list. It seems so much money to spend on food and personally think food is getting so expensive. The 3 coffees were 15 and 5 meats 25. I am just over my budget as go from 23rd til 23rd. Makes me think how much would I spend if I was not on a budget. Tried Spanish stew that was on Batch cooking programme on channel 4 that was very nice and will make it again but will be vegetable soup for rest of the week which we all like.21k savings no debt8

Groceries going well this week - on £88.50/£130 and only today and tomorrow to go.
However, we have had higher costs eating out than we usually do as it is half term and we have been having a staycation (and had one night away). We usually go away for a week in Feb half term, so overall the costs have been much much lower this year.7 -
Trip to Sains yesterday for general food shop - £31.32. Got a few reduced bits n pieces and saved just over £7 on the member price deals so not too bad.
