Ah I remember that watch! Glad it still lives to fight another day!

The watch, the washing machine, and the cordless hoover, all limping along and getting patched up, and limping along some more 😂

I've had a busy week again at work with a bit of travelling, but I shared the driving and there was some fun mixed in with it so not too bad. I had a very late night on Thursday, but I didn't drink too much alcohol, I drank plenty of water, and I had a nap between the work stuff and the social stuff. I wasn't fit for much brain needing stuff yesterday but I covered the basics at work, had two more naps, and had just over 10 hours sleep last night. I spent about £50 while I was away, so not ideal, but it came out of my daily budget money so I haven't gone in to debt or dipped in to other pots, I just have almost nothing to last til payday on 31st. I should be fine but there will be no treats or superfluous spending, unless those wages finally come through for the work I did in Jan and Feb.
I am still loving my box free living room. I bought a large cheap rug for it, and although I'm not sure I love the pattern I'm getting used to it. Cheap and machine washable wins over style in this house at the moment.
I am mostly planning a day of pottering about in the house and garden, the only thing I really have to do is finish the stupid tax stuff that I couldn't finish on Wednesday. The deadline was Wednesday but the activation code I needed didn't arrive til that afternoon so it is what it is. I might get fined, but I'm just going to have to be ok with that and try my best to get it finished ASAP.

The saga of the stupid tax stuff is ongoing. Today I briefly considered just leaving the company dormant, in case something goes wrong with my job in the next year or two and I need to work for myself for a bit. Then I had another hour this evening of getting absolutely nowhere with the companies house account online and I've decided it's definitely not worth the hassle of dealing with this lunacy every year, unless I intend to make enough to pay someone else to deal with it for me.
I am down to the last 6 (huge) Christmas cheap potatoes. I'm wondering if I can get through them by the end of the month. Probably not but we'll see how far we get. There are 3 that need using up quicker so if I can at least use them I'll be happy. I've moved the 6 into the pantry now, out of the box in the conservatory as that's starting to get warm when the sun comes out. I'm very pleased that they've lasted this long. I ate some of the Christmas cheap carrots for my tea too, I'd chopped them and stored them in the freezer.
I've done lots of little bits in the garden this weekend, and I'm feeling really pleased with how many nettle roots and crocosmia corms I've manged to pull up. I'm slightly aching but in that nice way that reminds you you've been working in the garden.
The old dog has managed a long-ish walk this evening without limping so hopefully that means she doesn't need physio. I'll see how she does in the next couple of days though.
Shirt that sold on vntd is packed and ready to go, and three small boxes of tapes have been picked up by a local collector. Some good decluttering going on in this house.
Money is tight and payday is still over a week away but there is plenty of food in the house and I should have enough money in the pot for a full tank of fuel tomorrow (or an almost full tank depending on the price). I am egg rich and I am potato rich, and there are a good few batch cooked meals in the freezer.
I've had a lovely weekend of pottering around and actually feeling like I'm getting somewhere for a change. I'm really starting to see how it will feel when I have the free time and brain space to focus on my own stuff instead of other people's. Especially if I keep making improvements with my health and energy levels.

Hi, sorry I have to ask, what's happening with that £33.94 in your signature? It never seems to move. Nosy, sorry! V x

😂 @vampirotoothus it's the credit card I use for work related food and fuel. It's got a £500 limit on it and I clear it every payday when my expenses are paid. Eventually I'll save up a pot and take it from there so it's not a debt, but for now it's the easiest way of keeping it separate and easily accounted for.

I've woken up with a stinking cold but I'm trying to positively reframe it. I haven't had a cold for about 5 years because since covid the slightest knock to my immune system sends it all haywire and blown out of proportion. I've just got a normal boring common cold lile a normal boring common person 😂

I'll be taking all the meds available tomorrow @PennysIntoPounds I'm driving 3h (120 miles) each way to support training and the person who was meant to be delivering has called in sick so I'll be doing it.
I just put the last of my fuel money in and it hasn't even filled the tank. It's not gonna be enough to get to work and back tomorrow and Thursday (2h/80 miles each way). Luckily I'm relatively local on Friday. Maybe my £4 vntd money will be in by then 😂

Some good news! My gas and electric renewal is about to kick in and they've reduced my DD from 160 to 136. That scares me too much though so I've compromised at set it at 150. I'll use the extra tenner wisely and still feel relatively relaxed that I won't have to worry about my usage if any circumstances change.
I've also pretty much reached my halfway point on my credit card payment colouring in. Not halfway to zero but half way to my goal amount that I want to get to before balance transfer time in June. Colouring in those squares is quite motivating when all my balances are now big and payments feel like a drop in the ocean.
