That's an amazing reduction, well done!

Another busy week at work, hormones all over the place, tired, and thought I was coming down with a head cold or something. I feel better today though and have been in quite a pleasant mood!

I've started my money shuffle. It took quite a lot of thought this month, this might sound like the stupidest thing to say, but having an extra £325 due to not overpaying my loan made things more difficult. There were at least 6 different ways I could use it and I kept going around in circles.

I know I should probably pay off my credit cards as despite being 0% they are the most risky debts, and the largest. Then again, I'd really like to pay off my car loan (to a friend) as my car has done 128k miles and with the long journeys I'm doing for work it could conk out at any time. But also I woke up with slug trails over my cooker top this morning so would really like it to go towards the deposit for a new kitchen. There is also Christmas to think about, which I very much dislike, and costs far too much money. If I split the 325 between all the things then they would all get a small amount and it wouldn't help me get anything sorted any quicker.

Currently I'm thinking sod Christmas and sod the credit cards (for this month at least). Split the money between the most pressing debt (car) and the most desired thing (kitchen deposit).

I'm going to redo the way I show my debts in my signature on 1st November, but for now my total debt it - CC total 13,370 and total debt (CC's and loan) £15,470.

Might have a look at my net worth tonight too.

For now I'm having a glass of wine and watching crap tv with the log burner on. It's lovely to not end the week absolutely exhausted.

Wine and some crap tv is the perfect way to end the week.

Nice chilled weekend, no trick or treaters so I get to eat all the treats I bought. Having a bit more energy than usual means I've tackled a few more chores than I've managed on a weekend lately.

I'm guessing the weight has started to pile on a bit over the last month or so, judging by how tight my jeans were on Thursday. If I continue having less frantic weeks I might be able to do a bit more healthy cooking and put a bit more thought into what I'm eating (and drinking). I've saved some high protein lower calorie meals for inspiration. I don't really eat breakfast but I do like brunch when I'm WFH so I'm going to try some oat bakes and overnight oats and things that are a bit more filling. That might be nice with soup or eggs for lunch. I'll have a bit of travelling to do through November and then there should be barely any work travel through Dec, Jan, and Feb (unless an emergency happens as the roads are usually too bad to get through in my bog standard car). It might be nice to develop a little winter routine for those months.

I've loved having the log burner on this weekend so I need to get some logs delivered. I don't like the last company I used (they dumped them all on the steps outside my house blocking the path for all my neighbours) and the company I used a few years ago aren't answering. It feels like a bit of a risk finding a new company but I'll check the local facebook pages and see who's recommended.

Would you have a happier Christmas if you had £325 though 😁

If I were you, which I'm not so feel free to disregard, but I would pay back car loan mate £100 (presuming they're not struggling and are happy for you to pay in bits and bobs), pay £25 off the 1st D loan to round that down, £100 in kitchen fund and £100 in Christmas pot so you feel a hundred quid less grumpy about it 🥂

I have paid an extra £100 to my mate Pip, and that's as far as I got 😂

I have created a pot for kitchen deposit savings. There's already 270 in there as I'd saved that for kitchen floor tiles. The deposit for the actual kitchen needs to come before the tiles now so I can make sure I get a fitting slot before my birthday.
