I enjoyed my tea and a bit of crap telly, then worked 8 til 10.30. It was good to get some of that stuff out of the way so although I resent it, I feel better for it.
Took the poor neglected pooches for a quick late night walk and heard tawny owls, so that was nice (kind of).
I did have two teas, but I didn't have a takeaway so I think today has been a day of ups and downs.

Today my work laptop couldn't connect. IT couldn't resolve it. I tried to have an afternoon of acceptance and did some e-learning that I could do on my personal laptop, but I am slightly worried about the work that will be building up. I have no colleagues who can help out, in this new role I am the entire team. I've done what I can on my phone 🙈
In other news, I really want a porch over the front door as part of my making my house feel safer plan. The neighbour's living room window is higher than my front door so they can sit there and watch. Anyway... £600?!??!? Really??!!?!! I'm sure I've been living under a rock for the last few years. I can't believe how expensive things are. I'm really mad at myself for not buying the one being sold locally second hand for less than £100 in the summer. How often do they come up second hand? 😆

I have no idea how much these things are but that does seem a bit steep. Unless it's really good quality and includes delivery and professional fitting. Might be worth getting some more quotes and/or having a very regular check of ol!o/F B M/gumtreeee

Just looked on b et q and they have some that go over door for much cheaper, and you maybe buy privacy screens for either side, would also mean they can't make malicious complaint about a structure not having planning permission if the privacy screens are movable garden features (afaik, obvs check legal conditions in your council rather than taking my word for it)

That's where I looked first Pip. I pretty much only need the bit that goes over the top of the door (but solid not see through) because theres a massive wall on the left of my door, taller than me but unfortunately their window starts about 6ft higher than my doorstep.
A neighbour across the road has the one that goes over the door so should be fine. A couple of others built a proper wooden porch with a door and had some questions asked.
I will keep looking though, and second hand would be totally fine.

Might be worth getting confirmation from council that it's okay beforehand, just so you can feel all warm and smug when neighbores inevitably try to dob you in 😊
