I expect we'll have several new members by the end of this month If so, welcome to the site)
Did you learn from previous xmases and budget this year or did you go for one last fling on the credit cards?
Did you stick to your budget? How less stressed are you this January if you did? Any tips?
I've already started on next xmas in the sales

Didn't touch the credit card. Put money into my debt card account used that and had £179 left, yesterdayy. Well impressed.
Paid 5 x the minimum amount on my credit card yesterday.
Paid my mortgage and sufficent funds for other bills.
So well impressed with myself. Including working Boxing Day and New Years Day - double pay.
All thanks to my lightbulb moment in October no idea how I went so very very off track but I am now obsessed - I am told - checking balances, seeing what I'm spending - got a coco tin to save copper in and a sealed money pot for 20P in the £ shop (it was dented) to save £1 day plus plan to really sort it this year. Bring it on 20080 -
i have most of the money needed to pay off what i spent over christmas, just done a BT and waiting on that to go thru before paying the rest off

This was our second Christmas without a credit card.
We shopped very carefully and got £750 worth of shopping for £350.
Happy days

my card was nearly on fire it was used so often but in my defence I will have it paid off by end of February. I knew I had money coming in from various places and I spent it in advance. I find it difficult to budget for things as I want every spare penny to go on my debts and when they are all paid then I will do a budget for everything. Dunno if anyone else feels like that. x 5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
mit - im the same as you. spent like mad. paid £1,800 yesterday and the rest will be paid off end of Jan and if necessary end of Feb. will budget better and spend less next year.0
