I’m at work so I’m just using the Info the wife sent, it was a handful of dresses. I agree that with tax’s we’ve paid already and no doubt would have to more for return to just sell them here. She wanted something that no one else would probably have, and as she’s had a hard year we thought it was a good idea. I’d have to find out the company and there tcs and cs, will probably just sell them here and learn from it. But as for the comment this is why the world is messed up, I will sleep well knowing that now my parcel won’t be going back DHL will cancel the plain and save all the CO2, can’t believe they would put a whole plain on just for me.0

A local seamstress would knock up a bespoke prom dress for not a lot of money. Literally made to measure.
Ordering five from Australia, just to try them on. I don't know whether to laugh or cry...8 -

One of my Y11s the other year got hers for £12 from a charity shop then spent £30 having it customised and altered by a local seamstress. It was stunning! Probably the beat dresses I saw.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)5 -
To bring it a bit more on topic - you’re bound by the terms and conditions of the contract. Those terms should tell you what overarching legalisation they have to work to (eg what legal jurisdiction they are based in). Sometimes companies will abide by the rules of the landed product but this is rare as the company would have to be aware of consumer rights in every single country in the world. Far easier to say they stick to the law in their own country and any disputes have to go through that countries legal framework. So - you need to determine what Australian consumer rights law is. Some consumer laws (like I know a few states in America) have no provision for if you change your mind so you can’t force them to accept a return - so the companies may accept a return in exchange for store credit. Not sure how Australian law stacks up - but you can certainly Google it and find out.FWIW - calling someone a ‘nazi’ because of an online forum is also diminishing the people who fought for our country to ensure people had freedom of speech to disagree with each other. In case you forgot, we were fighting against Nazism - and in favour of true free speech which allows people to disagree with each other.I’m not going to say more - these boards are meant to be apolitical. If you want more consumer rights advice then ask away.10

I do wonder if the websites are sellers based in China, cheap, poor quality prom dresses do seem to be one of their fortes. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces2

I can sort of see "The plane was going anyway".
Loads of Shein/Temu /Chinese are bought because of cost, yes bulk shipped but still that cost/environment impact by volume.
Yes I agree a local seamstress could most likely have done a unique dress,or as others have said charity shop with alterations.
It's the world we live in.1
