Currys PC Stopped Working After 14 Moths

As the title. I bought a gaming PC from Currys online in November 2023. It said on the website it had a 2yr manufacturers warranty (if that's relevant).
When it went wrong I had to press the power button several times to get it to start then the following day I pressed the button and it did nothing.
I phoned Currys helpline but was told the guarantee ran out last November ie 1yr ago.
I'm unsure if I have any rights regarding repair/refund/replace after 14 months but it wasn't cheap and I expected it to last a bit longer than that.

Firstly get your receipt in order to prove date of purchase. Then I would phone the manufaturer - they will likely offer to repair it first. You should take them up on this and not insist on a refund. If I were you I would also try to find the advert/listing for the PC on Currys' website as well. I bought a "new" laptop off them once (listed as "new") and it was actually refurbished, and faulty, and it took 4 returns for their "tech crew" to diagnose that the laptop battery was dead1

You have consumer rights (with Currys) which has nothing at all to with any manufacturers warranty that may or may not exist.
After this long however you will almost certainly have to get an independent report detailing what has failed and if it is deemed to be a fault that was inherently present when the PC was purchased.1 -

If it does absolutely nothing then it is either the button or thr PSU, you can bypass the button by pressing the on button on the motherboard, if nothing still happens then either a wire is loose which is unlikely, or the PSU has failed.
The button costs a few pounds to replace yourself, the PSU would cost £50-150 depending on what wattage it is (I cannot see anything on their site that uses high end PSUs), which may or may not be worth fixing yourself depending on how difficult Curry's will be about fixing it.2 -

Currys PC Stopped Working After 14 Moths
I've heard of Bugs affecting computers but not Moths.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".4 -
Something I forgot to ask: If Currys repair it should they charge me?0

I bought new pc from Curry's online end of September, stopped working 10th January, picked up for warranty repair 12th January, text said it would be returned the following Sunday, I presume they thought I purchased the care plan. which I didn't, phoned up as tracker was showing it was still in the van about 5 days later, why not updated to in repair shop? after phoning up many times and getting no joy, I spoke to someone today who said after 28 days, 9th February, if repair had not been done to pc then I would be offered a refund or a replacement, tracker started to say I needed to contact them, I have phoned many times and I will now leave it to 10th February, complained about one call centre worker, was told I would be sent a £20 voucher for poor service, will wait and see if that arrives,, they will make me pay for repair if they say I caused damage, I didn't, very poor customer service and you have to pay for call to customer services, which must be adding up now, I hope to get a refund and never use this company again, terrible service, martin should look into them and ask them why their customer support is so poor,1
