I stupidly send them my phone after reading a few good reviews about this website. They offered decent quote to buy my phone, I even avoided the higher quotes with bad reviews.

Anyway short story is they ghosted me since I send my phone in, their phone line just rings out with no answer. Emailed them with no reply. 

I just wonder have anyone else have any similar experiences and whether small claims court or any other route I can explore since they are a registered company I believe.

  • Yes - I'm having a similar experience. On this site, I accessed a generous quote (£138) from UR on an old iphone. So I sent it to UR. They then emailed me saying:

    "The screen has visible marks. It has deep scratches in more than one place. As a result we have amended our Valuation to £55.00 that reflects the cost to carry out the work on your old device so it can be given another life."

    This isn't true. The phone is in excellent condition. So, using their online service, I rejected the offer and requested they return the phone. They then revised their offer to £75. I rejected it and requested the phone's return again. Ever since, I've emailed twice and heard nothing back. I've tried calling them today: no answer.
     
    I'm very worried now that UR:

    a) has disappeared - taking the phone with them
    b) will underhandedly try to circumvent my requests by, for example, saying they've returned the phone (when they haven't) or - if they're particularly viscious - gouge deep scratches in the screen, then return it to me (thus fitting with the false assessment they provided).

    Any advice or thoughts gratefully received!



  • I sent a iPhone and iWatch to this company on 2nd July.
    They, as expected, lowballed the amount they offered for the devices even though they were kept in cases and covers since purchase. After a back and forward and them upping the offer slightly, I accepted.
    However, after numerous calls and emails and being fobbed off with excuses, this morning I had the misfortune to speak to service representative Jodie TheLiar. 
    I had received emails from Jodie TheLiar previously detailing payment was being processed. It is now well beyond the 7 day guaranteed payment window. I am left without items or payment.

    After Jodie TheLiar having just slammed the phone down after asking to speak to her manager or a complaints department, I just spoke to Wendy TheBuckpasser. Wendy detailed 'theres nothing I can do", it has been escalated to the payment team which are an external company!

    So, we have a team comprising of Jodie TheLiar, Wendy TheBuckPasser, MattTheBlameshifter who emailed days ago explaining payment would be made.

    Very disappointed, especially as this company was recommended by Martin Lewis.

    Update- Lucy contacted following my negative reviews on their social media posts and payment was made immediately. Lucy is a credit to this awful company and has a bright future in customer services. I only wish id spoken to her a week ago and saved myself 3 hours of calls and multiple emails.

    Poor experience with this company, having to chase payment and dealing with the very rude Jodie was not a pleasant experience. Not recommended and if you must use this company, ask to speak to Lucy, she's the only one with the ability to make payment it appears.
