Hi
I turn to this forum as I am in need of some much needed advice as I am so confused with all these Broadband Companies, which to pick, has a good reputation and so on.
I am currently with Virgin Media and my account is coming up for renewal really soon, I managed to get a wonderful deal before of £14 for an 18 month contract, due to a mistake on their part, now though its going up considerably to just over £40, naturally I called retentions to see what they could do, trying the usual techniques, but the best I could get is £25 for 18 months on the speed I am at now, M125 fibre broadband, apparently the lowest speed they offer, anyway this suits me as I only need this for streaming and downloading films & series, but thats seems the best they can do and they are not budging, so I told them I will have to think about this and now I have my disconnection in place for the 25th January.
Is this a good deal, can you advise if there companies out there for just Streaming and downloading with good customer care?
I saw a good deal for Onesteam Fibre 40, can anyone recommend this company?
Thanks, I eagerly await your reply

£25 for 132Mbps Fibre Broadband is a good deal, Whilst their slowest package, more than adequate for any purpose for any size family.

I'm currently using Three's 5G home broadband, really cheap and right now am getting 432 Mbps down and 26.5 Mbps up, though that's dependent on the local 5G signal, whether you have a convenient windowsill that sees a tower, that kind of thing. And it also means no landline phone.
Had no issues with them over customer service. Of course a huge company like Three will have loads of people who've had fantastic customer service from them, and loads who won't ever go near them again.

That price is very competitive.
Changing to a service over the old copper phone lines may not even be possible, you need to find out exactly what the alternative companies are offering.
A new FTTP service could mean another hole in the wall and the ONT and router placements may not be flexible.
At £25, if you have no reliability or speed issues, then it's a serious case of "If it's not broken, don't fix it"0 -

1. Go to your local library and ask them to sign you into Which? online. Most libraries are able to do this for you.
2. If you try it at home, some of the information is blanked out. Have a look:-

Ayr_Rage said:@Sammyg don't forget whoever you go with you'll get a fixed price rise every April rather that the old CPI/RPI + X.X%
Therefore on a low price the actual percentage rise may seem steep.
Not every provider has automatic price increases. Only the ones favoured by people on MSE.

Onestream.... My modus operandi when looking at any company is to read the 1 star reviews on Trustpilot. Now some customers complain out of ignorance and/or stupidity but I like to see if there any trends in the complaints.
There are nearly 22K reviews of which 22% are 1 star.... I would suggest you have a glance Onestream Reviews | Read Customer Service Reviews of www.onestream.co.ukSnootchie Bootchies!0
