I'd like to nominate Mumoftwins and her tail of her trials & tribulations with Dacorum Council. For those of you who don't know, she was made homeless after the Buncefield explosion, hit difficulties with a bad landlord and has now been classed as intentionally homeless so is about to be evicted from her temporary accommodation. The tale beggars belief.

She has borne all this with dignity and the support she, and her partner I_T, have generated has been tremendous. We are hoping to get her some help, but to win Post of the Month would be a great lift to her (and all of her supporters).

If you've not read it, catch up here:

    Go MOT :j
I'd like to nominate her too. She's gone through a heck of a lot, but is managing to pull through with the support of her many MSE friends, some of whom she now knows personally. She could certainly use the £50, but if she doesn't win I hope knowing how much support she has here will be of help to her. :)

Adding my vote, too, for MoT's thread. :)
I was cut out to be rich, but got sewn up wrong.
  • I'd like to nominate Mum of Twins for her perseverance against a "brick wall council" and her determination to continue when many others would have given in . A true inspiration and wonderful lady.

I'm adding my vote for mumoftwins also!
I've heard of many acts of heroism over the years, of people rushing into emergencies and saving the day... but MOT has shown heroism of a different kind: the sheer courage it takes to face pain, heartbreak, disillusionment, severe depression day in, day out- and to pick yourself up every single morning and carry on the fight when you feel you have nothing left to give; and to do it all for the sake of her two children... Now THAT'S courage.
This amazing lady deserves a break.
Conquering the debts one penny at a time.....
  • I'd also like to vote for Mum of Twins. She has had a desperately terrible time and has borne it with great dignity. The thought of not being able to put a roof over the head of your children is too terrible to think about ... yet she has amazingly retained a sense of humour throughout.

    An amazing lady.

I would like to nominate Mum of Twins for her courage and determination in dealing with all the difficulties that continue to face her and her twins.

I cant wave a magic wand to make all her troubles disappear but I can nominate her for post of the month which may help her.

    Thank you

Another MotherofTwins vote from me :)

To be in her boots right now is something we all hope and pray we never are. She is a brave and strong woman even tho she may not feel it all of the time :)

I would like to nominate bellsbells for post of the month of January for starting the thread on the Mortgage-Free Wannabe board titled 2008 MFW newbies.
It is not a tale of heroic deeds, startling revalations or even anything complicated, it is a simple motivational thread bringing together a disparate group of people with the common ambition for the forthcoming year, to pay as much extra as possible off our mortgages in the next 12 months on our road to becoming mortgage free.
We have each set our own targets, being as realistic as possible, and we give each other support and hopfully confidence to push for that little bit extra that might knock another month off our target dates and bellsbells updates the first post as we notify him of our progress.

Well done to bellsbells, you deserve something more than just a click on the thanks button.:T
