Well done on advocating for yourself!

Thank you, @jwil, I'm now thinking that telling them was the easy part… I've said I'll honour the workshops this week but then I need to send a 'handover' email to my manager and decline any future meetings, which will be the real test.

Lovely weekend celebrating a friend's birthday and then a quiet, restful day yesterday. Caught up on some jobs today alongside a day full of calls.

Been a little lax with reading and exercise (other than walks) so going to set everything up tonight so I can get up early and exercise, and I'm now going to go and read for a little while before meditation and bed.

Hope everyone has had a great Monday :)

  • Quite a 'meh' week this week, work is really impacting me, lots of internal politics and I've been swept into a negative mindset and procrastination (that's been building for some months if I'm being realistic). Need to change this up as it isn't me, it's impacting home life too. Currently putting a plan of action into place and also have arranged a number of calls re other opportunities.

From a financial point of view, we've gone over budget (pay day this week thankfully) so I'll have to move some money around which will impact savings. I am going to make sure that I budget with DH this month so he can see just what we are spending and what on (some of it is utter drivel).

Daily goals have also fallen by the wayside for the first time fully this year.

All in all not a great week, BUT I am in control and I can do something about it.

    Today's tasks:

Budget update - see exactly where we have spent and put a plan of action in place

Budget plan for this month's pay

Long walk to a friends to take her birthday present, will listen to a podcast on route

I hope everyone has a great day,

    Wendy x

  • Ok, so I don't stay in a rut for long, usually… I took some positive action last week and I start a new role in a few weeks time (same company, different team more suited to my skills, grade higher).

    So onwards, and upwards.

Budgetwise, this weekend was quiet though a little spendy as DH needed a few bits and it was a relatives birthday but nothing outside of the planned budget. More money was snaffled into savings from our wage, I do need to find time to allocate that sinking funds, savings and EFs. Usual pension, S&S and work savings were also taken/allocated so all good there.

I need to look into moving DS' money into a Junior ISA as I think DH put it in a normal savings fund when he was born and it isn't attracting very much, I don't think (I can't see it as only one parent can be on the account), so need to look into this.

    Today's focus;

Home cooked meal (dinner is leftovers from the weekend so that's a win!)

60 mins of exercise (walk after work)

    30 mins reading

    2.6l water

    Journal - Done

10 dates in photo digital declutter (to try and catch up as I am sorely behind on this).

I hope everyone has a lovely Monday x

Great news about the job. Well done for being proactive to make a positive change!

  • Thanks @Dakota_Rose, appreciate you stopping by and commenting. Super glad I've been able to take action as it's not always easy to do so, I have slowly been losing myself over the last couple of weeks so it's great to be heading back in the right direction, I'm so grateful for this opportunity.
