If Ax have admitted a clerical error (in writing), then it should be relatively straightforward to get compensation.
I am not sure how they would be able to get the car back though, given that its been sold and presumably now in the possession of someone else. I don't think the police would class it as "stolen".
Did they take it without keys??0 -

You were offered the chance to keep your car for the scrap value of £210.99 and you refused the offer so they sold it?0 -
In theory, since you didn't give them the V5 (you didn't, did you???) then Copart have unlawfully registered the car into the trade. And if its sold without the V5, then the subsequent owner who tries to re-apply for it will have the barrier that its not lawfully Copart's to sell on.
Besides, nobody's buying that from copart to rebuild.0 -

You were offered the chance to keep your car for the scrap value of £210.99 and you refused the offer so they sold it?Exactly it sounds like you refused the offer to buy your car back for £210.99 so it was sold at auction. The fact you wanted it back but refused the offer
meant it was increasing the storage bill so needed to be actioned quickly and you refused to buy it at that price?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1 -

Yes you rejected their offer to buy the car for £210.99 so they sold it rather than pay another £10 - £50 a day storage.
Would you buy the car back with another £200 worth of storage fees on top of the £210.99? They probably assumed you
were not happying to pay £210.99 so unlikely to want to pay more than that with additional storage fees added to their costs.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

They chose to offer it you for £210.99.
You turned that down.
They do not have to enter negotiations over price.
They chose not to, so put it into the auction instead.
You could have bid at the auction.0 -
