You certainly should,  it's ALWAYS the first option

    Ignore the debt collectors letters

Name the parking location,  nation,  plus the parking company involved

See the newbies sticky thread in announcements,  especially posts 4 & 5

    Question:

Plan A too late if you have DCBL?

    Answer:

    No.

    Ignore DCBL.

Come back when you have a Letter Before Claim from DCB Legal.

Thanks for all the help so far. I now have in hand LOC from DCB Legal.

Using draft response from newbie thread via email. Do i still inc the blurb about 'old address' if i've been in the same house over 20 yrs ?

No, but it does no harm to confirm the correct address for the service of papers,  no matter how long or short you have been there,  clarity is useful

    Evening you wonderful people.

    Claim Form now in hand
    - issue date 15 sep 2025
    - DCB Legal Vs Me - £266

I'll admit i dont fully understand the Newbie post 2 on what to do next (ACK OF SERVICE)?

Also can you help with a defence reason ??  ... several sigs are in place, and i clearly was not in a marked bay with white lines, but I did park in what looks like a layby area, which has no clear floor markings or a sign making it clear NOT TO PARK THERE.

i'm so glad i found this group, cos im fuming its not clear, hence why i parked there for 2 minutes to grab a sandwich.

    thanks in advanced.

See post 2 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements,  login to MCOL via your government gateway account and complete the AOS online,  no paperwork involved,  just follow the advice to the letter

When it's been done,  your defence deadline date will be 4pm on Monday  20th October

Please edit your thread title to something more suitable like

Parking Group Ltd,  DCB LEGAL claim 2025

It's not DCB Legal v you. They aren't the Claimant, they are just a bulk litigator.

Fo this FIRST, please: FIGHTBACK ALERT!

    ...just days to go!
Please do the government's Public Consultation. We need every poster to complete this vital survey before the deadline.

    See this thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6617396/parking-code-of-practice-consultation-now-extended-closes-friday-26th-september/p1

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.

I've written some guidance to help focus new posters on the issues. I've covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.

Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam over 18 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.

    CLOSES THIS FRIDAY.

For ease and inspiration read the Which? response they've just published:
