They turn into brittle crumbs, but that doesn't matter in a curry!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Weight today is 204.2lbs, a fraction down on yesterday. ✅
Sunday is the end of the week for my weigh-ins so average for this short week is 204.8 (14stone 8.4lb), down from my starting weight of 206.4 (14stone 10.4lbs), a loss of 1.6lbs! 🎉
Breakfast this morning is another smoothie courtesy of Olio. 😋

That's a good loss. Losing 1-2lb a week is the best aim as it's more likely to stay off that way - much better than any crash diet.

Pottered off to Tesco to pick up shavings for the guinea pigs, black bags and lemon juice. I managed to buy it all with the extra change I found so still no new spend on my card. 🎉 The black bags and shavings were essential. The lemon juice was definitely not but it means I can have a go at making pesto with all the salad leaves. I opted for a bottle of juice over fresh as it tends to keep longer and I will be able to use it for other things. 🤞
Lunch has been a lovely roast chicken baguette with half a bag of bistro salad leaves on it. 🤣 With the exception of the dairy free spread, everything came from Olio.I’ve discovered another benefit of Olio is it helps decide what I am going to have as a meal. Instead of asking myself “what do I fancy?”, I simply have to ask what needs using up first. Everything that can be frozen from my Olio collections I freeze, narrowing down the options from the must be used asap pile. And I let the dds pick out anything they will eat from the pile first so the decision ends up pretty much made for me. 😁 The only problem then is avoiding just eating everything and ruining my diet!End ofDec-24Aug-25Brother 5,400.00 7,950.00 Overdraft owed 1,349.90 0.00 MBNA CC 10,534.20 11,531.06 Barclaycard CC 9,667.21 9,771.80 Fluid CC 0.00 809.75 NatWest CC 12,018.14 11,814.72 Aqua 0.00 1,147.94

Glad to report that 6 bags of salad leaves have now been turned into pesto. Making it was rather more messy than I imagined (those darn leaves have a mind of their own!), but it tastes remarkably good once made. I froze it into small ice cubes and I very much look forward to testing it once thawed. If it is as nice coming out the freezer as it is going in then I will most definitely be using that idea again in future! I love the added flavour dimension that salad leaves can bring, but with my Trigeminal Neuralgia I sometimes find the chewing necessary to eat the leaves sets the pain off. It will be awesome if this works to add the flavour but without the chewing! 🤞End ofDec-24Aug-25

Glad to hear it worked @EatingBeans and it's tasty. Imagine it would be very good with pasta almost like a sauce.1
