What a shame about the uneven cut. Good job she had you to fix it.
Won't be long till you can get yours cut too or perhaps you could put the long layers back in, knowing that if it's not perfect, you can cut them off and still get it neatened up by a professional later if necessary.

Well, I consider yesterday a massive success, so it has spurred me on. 😁
I weighed myself first thing and I am now 205.5lbs (down 0.9lbs in theory), so that is going in the right direction. 👍 I like to weigh myself everyday, celebrating if it is going in the right direction, and just treat it as a gentle nudge if it is not. I only really consider weight lost when comparing average weeks but I find daily weigh-ins keep me focused. I set my scales to lbs only to stop me stressing over the bigger picture as 205.5lbs is just a number to me, whereas seeing 14stone something everyday would have me stressing and feeling depressed rather than motivated. I guess it is a similar way to tackling the debt - focusing on a short term goal is easier than a long one.So, weight down today ✅🎉
On to money saving! Thanks to my new found enthusiasm for tackling the debt yesterday (I can tell I am feeling better now!), I ventured back onto Olio as I lay in bed last night. I looked at all the free food I could have requested if only I was willing to go out late at night to pick it up. It is a real dilemma for me as going out to pick up that late really disturbs my sleep but it also saves me money. I decided I need to just choose a day each week to call my Olio day, and see how much I can pick up on one day, freezing food whenever possible. Saturday night feels like it would work best as in dd2 cleans the kitchen on Saturday, giving me a perfect space first thing on Sunday morning for cooking if necessary. Plus, if I am super tired I can stay in bed a bit longer in the morning. So, Saturday is now officially my Olio night. 👍 In the meantime, I requested a few bbf items to pick up this morning and I am off in a minute to go and pick them up. I must say, being able to grab some muffins and an apple pie (as well as fruit and veg), has pleased me no end! I know I am on a diet but the odd sweet treat is still very much on the cards to keep me sane, and being able to donate muffins to my dds is a win all around - they get the pleasure of eating them and I get the pleasure of giving them something nice but also not spending money to do it. 😁End ofDec-24Sep-25

Hi, if you buy something large on your cc and then return it, the credit should be used as your payment for the month, which may give you some breathing space. This definitely happens with Tesco and Barclaycard. Good luck V x2

Lovely to see yesterday's progress! I am exactly the same as you with weighing daily, though I've not done done it recently. It does help me keep focussed but I don't take day to day fluctuations too seriously, as long as the trend is in the right direction.
And that seems a very workable plan for Olio too. I don't do Olio though there's someone who brings surplus bread and fresh fruit into church for anyone who wants it, and I suspect that's through Olio. I agree it's nice to be able to treat your daughters to muffins! And it makes sense to allow yourself treats too.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Olio trip turned out pretty good. I got three punnets of strawberries and a punnet of peaches (all actually in very good condition)! TWO large apple pies! 😋 4 muffins, two bags of broccoli and cauliflower and about 7 bags of brussel sprouts (I only requested one so there will be lots for the guinea pigs and dogs)! 🤣
Unfortunately during my journey, I also discovered that my remote central locking is no longer working from my car key. The central locking switch inside the van still works but just using the key on the drivers door only locks the drivers door. So to lock the van I now have to get out of the drivers door, get in the sliding door, shut all the doors (it only works if all the doors are shut), hit the central locking switch on the centre console to lock all the doors, manually unlock the sliding door, get out, manually switch the inside lock on the sliding door and close the door. Job done, van locked! 🤣 Now, the question is, does this justify breaking my no spend rule to buy a new remote battery? 🤔 Nope, at least not yet. I am sure the process will drive me mad but technically I can still lock the van so it does not constitute an emergency. Not entirely sure how I will manage when I have two dogs in tow but it will be amusing to find out.End ofDec-24Sep-25

Great lots of goodies from Olio! If you have a nearby L1dl, they sometimes do mixed boxes of end-of-shelf-life fruit and veg for 31.50. The selection and quality are variable, but the amounts tend to be generous.
Do you have a photo of how you like your hair, to show the new hairdresser? Sorry, that sounds so obvious! However, it's the most direct route to clear understanding that I can think of.
I am really impressed with your solution to locking the car!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
