Well done on getting it done so that it's usable. Good luck with getting out and using it! Would it be an option to use a tent to sleep in until you can sort out the bed unit in the van to sleep in it?

Thanks for the interest. The YouTube channel is still a work in progress because I am having real issues converting files. Something to do with filming on an old iphone and insta360 camera then trying to edit it on a Windows machine. I will get there at some point as it is something I really want to do, but there is only so much energy and time in the day and that has been dedicated to van building and job hunting atm.

Speaking of the van, after being absolutely sure that I would pause the building and just go camping (which we plan to do next week), I now have a reason to crack on with building it some more… I got offered a job! “Why does a job mean the van build is now more urgent?”, I hear you ask. Because the job is over a 3hour drive away and I will need to be in the office on average one day a week! 😱 (Trust me to get the job that is the furthest away!) With the van I can do the driving in smaller chunks, breaking it up with rests for eating and naps if needed, plus I can stay overnight on the spur of the moment if ever I need to. I start in about two weeks time so by then i need a bed of some sort no matter how rough and ready it is. Thankfully I already have power, a fridge and a toilet, and if push comes to shove I can just throw the microwave in the dog cage for now (until I finish building the draw for it), so I have an easy way to cook. dd2 will go back to earning some pennies so she is happy, although now it will be for puppy care rather than household chores. And best of all, starting a new job so soon means I pocket most of the lump sum I got off work and it will have put a major dent in the debt! 🎉 Life is looking good. 😁

Today though, it’s laundry and housework day. 🤣 Lots of catching up to do and I want to be all up to speed if I am to give myself the best possible chance of going back to work without making myself ill again. I am feeling positive, even if it does sound a bit mental! 👍

Ooh, congratulations! Brilliant timing, and it may be worth using a little of your lump sum to optimise the van so you sleep as well as possible, have enough battery, are warm enough etc. Investment in your environment will make those long journeys easier.

But - so, so well done. I'm buzzing for you. 😊

congratulations on the job, fabulous news. Agree with cherryfudge, now might be time to use some money to get van overvtge final hurdle.

Mind tho, depending on how good the payroll is, you might be 6 weeks before you get paid, possibly more if they make a fubar of it so keep some money for covering that especially since you will have some lengthy journeys to pay for before any hope of a payment. Once you start getting paid by them, anything leftover will definitely all be yours to distribute as you see fit.
