Oh I have checked, repeatedly, via several people, and they all have come back saying umm, ahh, the 24th, but that’s what they said about the annual leave last month and then they didn’t pay me. The whole process of leaving has been a complete disaster from start to finish and not just me but seemingly for lots of people who left through the same Voluntary Leavers Scheme. No matter what they say, the trust in them actually doing what they say has totally gone. I just have to sit and wait it out now.

If you are able to get a cheque book, there was an old trick (I was an impoverished student in the 1980s) where you pay by cheque, timing it to arrive on the right date but it will take a couple of days to clear, by which time funds have arrived in your account. I don't know if this would still work now that cheques don't have to be physically handed over.

What a lovely Pets at Home lady. 😇

I'm sorry you're in such pain and I hope it eases soon. This windy weather can't help.

An even better thing if you can pay by cheque is to "forget" to sign it so they have to return it to you to sign and then you send it back again - will give you an extra week at least!

Today be a garden day. First thing as always has been to go around and litter pick the whole garden as the dogs are forever pinching wrappers and taking them outside to play with them. I had both dogs with me today for the first time since Little Dog went into season which meant close supervision was needed. Little Dog is clearly not in the mood for anything but doesn’t stop Big Dog still trying his luck occasionally! Since gravel shovelling would make supervision difficult I decided a bit of pruning was a better option. It is amazing how fast things grow as this time of year and how much tidier everything looks after a bit of a chop. I even got to finally place the headstone dd2 and I bought for piggle. How fast have those 6months gone! Still lots to do in the garden but I am trying to take it easy after the past couple of days to try not and overdo it.

Still no word on the job front.

£43.39 left of the overdraft and 8 days to go until payout day.
