Thanks all. I have everything crossed that I get this new job. I am running out of the will to live keep writing these applications!Sadly not much to report on the £5’s at the minute. It has been such a crazy past week or two that I haven’t had a lot of time to really push for it. Total actually received so far is £19.14/£100 aka 3/20 £5’s. 😕 I am still waiting for £6 from the boots and £43.50 for the refund of the remarking, but unclear when that will materialise. Now the mad scramble for the application is over I am going to have this evening to chill (and possibly tomorrow evening too depending on how work goes), then I am going to regroup on Friday which is my non working day. Honestly, can’t come soon enough!End ofDec-24Aug-25

£6 now received for boots, so £5’s progress is now £25.14/£100 aka 5/20 £5’s
It’s not much but it is something. I knew it was going to be a challenge this month so I’m celebrating every £5. 🙂
Work has just been painful today (not literally, just a difficult day). I am so glad tomorrow is my non-working day and I get a 3-day weekend. In fact, since I’ve booked next Friday off to use up my annual leave, I actually have 3-day weekends for the next three weeks! 🎉 I do really hope I can continue compressed hours if I get this new job. In theory it should be dead easy to put in place but one step at a time, I just want to get the job first!End ofDec-24Aug-25Brother 5,400.00 7,950.00 Overdraft owed 1,349.90 0.00 MBNA CC 10,534.20 11,531.06 Barclaycard CC 9,667.21 9,771.80 Fluid CC 0.00 809.75 NatWest CC 12,018.14 11,814.72 Aqua 0.00 1,147.94

Well the Trigeminal Neuralgia is back in full force. 😭
I had been in so little pain from the TN that I almost reduced my medication last night - I am glad I didn’t. I had so many plans for being productive and getting things on ebay today but now that is all in doubt as I am in so much pain. I woke up to it hurting quite a bit but manageable, then Big dog jumped on my lap for his morning cuddle and he very gently bumped into that side of my face (he likes to snuggle his head on my shoulder to say good morning and whilst he knows he’s only allowed to do it on the non TN side, he misjudged his approach this morning). Well, the shriek that came out of me even startled me (dd1 heard it upstairs and came to check on me). The pain is just indescribable when it hits like that. Poor puppy got launched off the sofa in the process (a non-intentional reflex action), but don’t worry he is absolutely fine and has clearly recognised this is a ‘be careful with mum’ day as he now just wants to lie on the floor next to me.I haven’t managed to stop the tears from silently running down my face yet, but I have managed to drink my morning coffee (little sips using just one side of my mouth) and I have taken some ibuprofen (mainly for the headache that will come from crying as it sadly doesn’t touch the TN pain). I am trying to pull myself together enough to come up with a plan for today as I really want to make progress, but before I do anything I need to work out how to eat something without making the pain worse. 😕
One thing I am very grateful for is it is my non-working day! 🙂 Honestly, if it wasn’t, I would be calling in sick. Yay to the joy of Trigeminal Neuralgia! 😞End ofDec-24Aug-25Brother 5,400.00 7,950.00 Overdraft owed 1,349.90 0.00 MBNA CC 10,534.20 11,531.06 Barclaycard CC 9,667.21 9,771.80 Fluid CC 0.00 809.75 NatWest CC 12,018.14 11,814.72 Aqua 0.00 1,147.94

How awful for you. The pooch must literally have touched a nerve. I do hope & pray it eases soon.
Meanwhile keep warm and try to keep up fluids - just to keep the problems as localised as possible.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Well I have at least stopped leaking tears, managed to eat some cornflakes with a sundae spoon, and drank another coffee to help me refocus. The pain is still bad and now spreading to my shoulder too, making me think maybe I have tweaked something in my sleep and it is more than just the usual TN - I am going to hunt for some co-codamol in the vague hope it takes the edge off.Now I’ve got a bit of a grip, I am very much working on the approach that I just need to get up and push through it or I will have wasted my day. Mind over matter, I just keep telling myself it is like when you run and hit that feeling where you feel you have to stop, but if you just keep running anyway it passes and you realise you can do it. So that’s what I am doing, (not actually running, just reminding myself that I can do more than I think I can - I just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other). Focusing on things that will make future me happier and more able to cope. I did a load of dishwashing as it makes me smile every time I set a load off - the novelty has not worn off - I cuddled the puppy so he knows I am ok again and he doesn’t worry, and now I’m cracking on with straightening the house a bit to make my environment better. The Friday Fairy aka dd2 still does much of the cleaning in order to earn her pennies so I am concentrating on the stuff not on her to-do list and together the house will be straight again in no time. 😁I’ve also done a couple of surveys and re-looked at my budget to remind myself what today was all about.I can do this! 💪End ofDec-24Aug-25

You are amazing, fitting that in when you feel so awful. Did you find any co-codamol?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
