So your consumer advise to me is just shut up and keep quiet? If we all did that as consumers then we'd have all these big companies taking advantage of us. I'm afraid I don't agree with that, I've had plenty of positive results from complaining, and I'll keep doing it and would advise others to do the same.
No you call them and speak to the salesman and tell him what I said above, that's how you get your point across.

In order to avoid losing the sale, they may change their tune and knock some off the cost of the car to bring you out even as if you went for the Cinch deal

If motorpoint will buy your car for £900 why not let them have it.  And then shop around or is that just a PX from motorpoint ?

Have you tried we buy any car etc

Its all to do with the perceived value you're getting, and there is a way to analyse this, by knowing the CAP prices for your trade in, the new(/SH) car you're interested in and the deal you're presented with. Forget about the extras, just say a polite but firm "no thank you" to them - interestingly, car supermarkets aim for £0 margin on the sale itself and all their profit comes from the finance and extras.

If you want to know the CAP prices, PM me and I can look some up.

Sorry it still feels underhand for Evans Halshaw to advertise that they'll give you an extra £500 on ANY part exchange over £500 then deliberately under value your car and then actually not apply their advertised policy (my car was valued at £500 so it should still apply). I appreciate that I don't have to buy a car from Evans Halshaw, but I still have a genuine grievance that their advertised policy is not being applied specifically in my case. I'd like raise a complaint and I think I have every right to as I have a genuine grievance and have a genuine case where they are not applying their own advertised policy. I've tried to raise a complaint with Evans Halshaw and they are just ignoring me and I'm asking for help on here as to whether there is any ombudsman or similar that I can make a complaint to. People saying you just need to take it on the chin, and it's up to Evans Halshaw whether they apply there policy or not doesn't help me.

Cinch are part of We Buy Any Car and BCA car auctions. Presumably the best examples are retailed through Cinch whilst the remainder are put through the auctions. You would hope that filters out most of the dross.
Just make sure that if car is still in manufacture warranty, that it has been fully serviced in line with the warranty.
See loads of Kia where 7 year warranty is highlighted in the pictures, but no service book is provided (Kia requirement as no central database) or proof of servicing in line with the requirements = a very unhappy person when they get told warranty void 🤷‍♀️

I met the md of cinch when I did some filming for their current car advert. They are indeed part of bca and the cream of what they buy is retailed thru cinch. They don’t to sell any rubbish, and if you px with them it’ll go straight to bca.
They are prepared to lose money in the retail side for many years in order to get market share and have the backing of huge profits from bca to afford this.

Quite unlike cazoo….that was always going to go wrong.

So a used car from cinch will be a proper car.

And fyi I’m ‘Alf’ as in ‘’Alf cinched it’ and am polishing a Tesla when rylan Clark passes by.

And also fyi rylan is a really really nice bloke. WYSIWYG.
