Don't get hung up on individual components of the final bill. Who, really, cares how much the PX figure is?
The ONLY number that matters is the final cost to change.1 -
I totally agree, some places have higher prices and will offer you a higher part exchange and others have lower price's but offer a lower part exchange price. With Evans Halshaw price's appear to be higher than a lot of other places, but they're offering an extra £500 to off set that. What i'm frustrated about is that Evans Halshaw Stourbridge are offering me a poor part exchange then not applying the extra £500, so the bottom line (what I actually pay) stays too high. The fact that they then wanted to sell me £3000 of extras I don't want on top of that just adds insult to injury.0

Cinch are part of We Buy Any Car and BCA car auctions. Presumably the best examples are retailed through Cinch whilst the remainder are put through the auctions. You would hope that filters out most of the dross.1

Thanks Chris, that makes sense, I'm not hearing anyone saying don't touch them and they've been around long enough now for enough people to have had experience. Any other recommendations of places to look at?0

It feels to me like EH don't want your car, hence the poor trade in value. They're free to do that, after all. They're a business. And you're free to walk away, which you have. I'd not be investing anymore energy into it.
As for buying elsewhere. I'd be buying a car based on spec, condition and history. Actual retailer would be low on my list of requirements. Just look on Autotrader for what you're wanting. If that retailer has a deal that suits you, buy from them.0 -
Sorry it still feels underhand for Evans Halshaw to advertise that they'll give you an extra £500 on ANY part exchange over £500 then deliberately under value your car and then actually not apply their advertised policy (my car was valued at £500 so it should still apply). I appreciate that I don't have to buy a car from Evans Halshaw, but I still have a genuine grievance that their advertised policy is not being applied specifically in my case. I'd like raise a complaint and I think I have every right to as I have a genuine grievance and have a genuine case where they are not applying their own advertised policy. I've tried to raise a complaint with Evans Halshaw and they are just ignoring me and I'm asking for help on here as to whether there is any ombudsman or similar that I can make a complaint to. People saying you just need to take it on the chin, and it's up to Evans Halshaw whether they apply there policy or not doesn't help me.

You can raise a complaint but ultimately it won't get you anywhere, the best way to show your displeasure is to tell them you're going to buy your car from elsewhere, salesman loses out on his commission and the dealership a sale.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0

So your consumer advise to me is just shut up and keep quiet? If we all did that as consumers then we'd have all these big companies taking advantage of us. I'm afraid I don't agree with that, I've had plenty of positive results from complaining, and I'll keep doing it and would advise others to do the same.0
