One of my favourite banks was Girobank. It was different enough to make it really interesting. I was disappointed when it was taken over by the Alliance and Leicester back in 1990.1

I don't bank with Nationwide, but recently couldn't use the app to pay in a cheque. Even the paying in machine in branch wouldn't 'verify' said cheque, so I had to join a queue (of one, plus one already at the counter) to pay it in. It was rather an odd looking cheque (result of a shares sale, drawn on Citibank I think) and even the cashier did a double take.0

, I think they called them warrants.https://www.nsandi.com/get-to-know-us/ninja-knows-all-about-premium-bondsThe easiest way to get your prize(s) is by having it paid straight to your bank account. In fact, 9 in 10 prizes are already paid this way or are reinvested into more Bonds.
It’s quick and easy, with the alternative option being a paper warrant (like a cheque). If you choose this way to receive a prize you’ll need to wait for it to be printed, packed and posted – and then have the hassle of going to the bank to pay it in.
They tried to do away with them a few years ago, pushing people to direct bank payment, and had to reverse that policy after the resultant uproar, so sometimes progress is halted!
