Anyone owed money from Empathy Funeral plan?

Prove it's a lie!Me_2 said:
The problem I have with the approach is that I disagree that funds paid to the company, went to the company. They were supposed to go into a separate Trust, independent of the funeral plan provider. That's what we were told - and that's what all the all providers were also spinning at the time pre-regulation. If that turned out to be a lie, and money was never sent to a trust (and hence Dignity never got it) - isn't that essentially fraud?lincroft1710 said:
When a company goes bust it usually means its debts exceed its assets. The liquidator pays the creditors from whatever assets the company has (which are usually very little). As an unsecured creditor you have been paid the amount you are due, there is no big pot of creditors' money hidden under the floorboards.lisacrisp said:Is there really NOTHING we can do about these thieves ? I think all funeral plans/over 50s plans are a waste of money
Parents paid in 20000 over 4 decades and we only got approx 4000 back after they passed away and their schemes are still in business. They also wanted wills probate death certs and lots of forms to eventually pay out way after the funerals. Parents would have been better putting money under their bed. Certainly put me off them and as banks accept invoice from funeral directors they are redundant anyway.21k savings no debt1
