I absolutely love my life even though I'm in a position where society says I shouldn't be happy.

That might be the case for you. It certainly isn’t the case for everyone.
As to why we are here a one in however many billions chance and the right conditions in the right place at the right time a very very long time ago. Pure chance.

Although I have to point out that the OP did have a thread at the end of December talking about why they were emotionally to torturing  themselves, maybe the OP needs to be taken with a small pinch of salt.
That thread wasn't actually a negative mindset based post. It was more of a way for me to try and explain why I enjoy reminiscing about horrible things that make me feel bad in the moment, but then give me great joy after I've "got it out my system" kinda thing.

    But that thread did say:
I used to have a psychiatrist but I never spoke about this with her before but I'm currently on the waiting list for a new one so will try and get an answer in due time.

If you're happy, just get on with your life.
It doesn't matter that you live differently to other people.
It doesn't matter what society 'says'.

If you are content & happy with how you are and how your life is then that is all that matters..
I don't have many friends and no family contact...I'm happy enough with my set up
Don't be listening to those who tell you otherwise...they have their lives and you have yours l, so live it as you wish.
