I have upgraded my phone as my old one was around 4 years old and the battery didnt last very long at all, so my new monthly bill will be £23.99 (with an Annual increase of £1.50 every April) instead of £10.50 so an increase of £13.49 (initially). I do try and keep them for as long as possible after the initial contract has expired and reduce my contract to sim only, to get as much use out of each phone i have before it does come to a point where i do have to get another one. I dont go for top of the range, but simply a newer phone that should last me a good few years and doesnt cost a fortune.
