Thanks folks, i will have a look at gammon joints next time i go shopping. Im thinking i might do a curry next week and freeze some portions again. I might go to home bargains tomorrow as the dog needs some of her monthly treats/biscuits and while im there i might have a look to see if they have got any cheap tubs that i can use to put some meals in the freezer with. If they are cheap enough i may get some.Debts on Jan 6th 2025

£22.18 spent at Home Bargains today. I managed to get 6 tubs for only £1.49 which was good value, they will come in handy for putting things into the freezer. The rest was mainly dog treats/snacks that will last well over a month.

Well it was food shop day today ...... and i think i've been a naughty boy
I have gone over my budget and spent a total of £41.58
I did get ingredients to make a big curry to put into the freezer though, but it costs more than i thought to buy all the things needed just to make one dish. I have not added it all up but it was way over £10 for everything. I brought chicken, mushrooms, peppers, jars of curry sauce (no i can't make my own
) rice and naan bread. I mean 69p EACH for peppers !!! if i knew that before they went thru the till i wouldnt have brought 2 single ones i would have brought the pre packed ones with 3 in for something like £1.40 or something. I thought it would be cheaper buying 2 single ones not in packaging, thats how it normally works with veg.... or so i thought haha. I will have to actually look at the prices next time, that would probably help. I suppose if i can fill my 6 tubs and have another meal out of it all then it won't feel as expensive as it does right now haha.
I did go mad and bought some non essential salted choc caramel ice cream cones for the weekend when the weather is expected to be roasting hot. They cost £1.25 which i could have saved really, but it could have been worse and i could have bought some beer for £10+. I also bought some things that i don't usually buy every week as i dont need them as often like toothpaste, fabric softener. So i'm hoping i can spend less next week with this week being over budget
and next week i wont cook anything to put in the freezer as i will have the curry and i still have left over stew in the freezer also. So that should save me some money also.
