I need help please, I have a some company shares held by Morgan Stanley, the shares are in the US, I'm a UK employee and I'd like to know how to cash them in, Morgan Stanley require a UK Brokerage account. Can anyone advise why this is required? about 14 years ago i had some shares and when I cashed them in they sent me a USD Cheque, I didnt need to have a UK broker.

If a UK broker is needed, do you have any recommendations, the value of the shares are low so I don't want a pay loads in account/admin fees

Are they suggesting you set up a UK brokerage account to receive the shares electronically so that you can then sell them through that broker?

For international transactions. Redmayne Bentley are the type of stockbroker you'd need to use.

Unlikely you'd find any low cost service to handle this request.

Why can't Morgan Stanley just sell them and send the proceeds to the likes of Wise?
