Question about 1p mobile

I signed up to 1p mobile then I ordered 3 more sims and I was given £5 credit on each sim but what's the credit for.
My daughters has the 1p mobile unlimited sim but when she sent me a picture message it took 24p from her credit so do I need to keep the credit topped up for her to send picture messages.

Unlimited means data, standard calls and texts. It doesn't mean every type of usage. Picture messages aren't included, you can see here what's included in boosts:

Tariff and charges for UK, international and roaming

Don't send "picture messages", use a messaging app like WhatsApp, FB messenger etc. Then it'll use mobile data so will be included in any boost inc unlimited. Or it'll use wifi if available.

Picture messages (aka MMS) are charged as extras, over and above any inclusive rates. They will always cost credit.

This is true of all mobile operators not just 1P (AFAIK).

Don't use picture messaging, send pictures via WhatsApp or another internet-based service where they are free.

The credit on 1p mobile “monthly bundles” is to cover international calls, texts, or any premium rate calls, including those useless picture messages, use WhatsApp (or similar) for free pictures, chats and calls to/from overseas friends and relatives.

I have the £8/month bundle from 1p and have credit from recommendations, but I haven’t used a single penny of it.

We was with smarty and they didn't charge to send picture messages so it looks like she will have to go back with them as I don't use social media.

You seem to be using this forum, which I would consider being classed as a kind of social media, more so than messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, etc. Nobody uses picture messaging these days, if they ever did. Having a smart phone (if you have) and not using messaging apps for communication has little sense...

    Almost all mobile operators, yes.

The only ones I can think of that include MMS, or zero rate them, are Smarty, Voxi and Superdrug Mobile. After that it's 5p a pop on iD Mobile PAYG, then upwards from there.

WhatsApp is a messenger not social media. Social media are things like this forum or Facebook.

I'm wondering now, do any operators charge to receive MMS?

Picture messages are limited to around 300 KB in size, they are an obsolete means of sending pictures and cost 30p per message on 1p. No indication of being changed to receive them.

As previously mentioned, use mobile data (WhatsApp, etc) to send pictures, it’s what everyone else does.

The £5 credit you got initially was for 'referring' someone else to 1pMobile.
(Because you ordered 3 more SIMs)
Slightly strange that your just 'referring' yourself, but that's what they do.
